No, no, no...you got it all wrong! Here`s my list:
#1) MuddDawgs - Highest scoring team and best PD
#2) Lions - Well balanced team - can score points and stingy defense
after that it doesn`t matter...there`s your championship game.

you know if we did this the NCAA way the Lions have only beaten one top ten team (#10 No Fear), Novas have beaten two top ten teams (#4 Mac Daddies, #10 No Fear), and the Mudd Dawgs have also beaten two to ten teams (#7 Dietz Nutz, #8 Goin Deep, the rest of the teams have either beaten one or none of the top ten, so it should look like this:
#1 Mudd Dawgs (they won one more than Novas otherwise a tie)
#2 CCR Novas
#3 Kilroy`s Lions
#4 Mac Daddies
#5 Rhinos (haven`t beaten a top ten but still undefeated)
#6 Dietz Nutz (beat Sundae head to head)
#7 Lazy Sundae
#8 Broadlands Pub (undefeated so they get the edge on Goin Deep)
#9 Goin Deep
#10 Mutiny (this was tough but their win over Outcast put them in tenth over No Fear)
Looks like fairfax south is the toughest division with 4 teams in the top ten.
But hey we all know how well the NCAA ranking system works:D

Nice to see Outcast mentioned somewhere. It says a lot that a team is ranked because of the way they played Outcast.Either way- this is one of the closest seasons I can remember. The playoffs should be a blast, both A and B brackets.

Wilbon...Please
Yes, the Mudd Dawgs are 5-0, but they have not played anyone! The Lions and the NOVAs have been at the top of the A league for a while. In fact if you take a look, the Dawgs have never even beaten an A level team and they are 1-4 against top level B teams. You can`t be #1 with that resume...period! As for No Fear (My Plumber) and Lazy Sundae, they get the nod b/c they have proven they can win at the A level.
By the way, what happened to your Bulls?

You know you are right the Dawgs don`t have the proven record against A teams. But every season is different. As far as beating A teams. I would count Dietz and Going deep as A teams. And with all due respect to those teams we did beat them.

Kornheiser,
I can`t argue with you on thier opponents, but come on! That`s completely out of thier control. What IS impressive about the Dawgs is that they`ve only lost two regular season games in the last three seasons.
I will give you that they lay eggs in the playoffs. Checking back through the playoff history the last few seasons, they`ve beaten the weak teams then they don`t show up for the challenges. But remember, I only said they`d make the championship, not win it. I gotta back the Lions until the Dawgs prove they`ve got what it takes.
As for my Baby Bulls, let`s just say thay my hometown biases aside, the better team lost that series. Chi-town would have taken at least ONE from the Heat!
I guess D-Rob is our guest for Five Good Minutes. You have to admit, you guys are pretty new around this league and you`re wise to keep your chatter to a minimum for the most part, unlike some of these knuckleheads around here. Tell us D-Rob, what makes you think your team can hang with the big boys who`ve played together in this league for years?

If you do not have No Fear in your top ten because 3 games lost then your ranking is worthless. Those games were lost but the total record of the teams that beat them is 13-1 that makes it the hardest schedule of any team out there. Lost last week because of the 2pt play last play of the game and lost to novas in overtime. Could have beat McDaddy too having the ball last. Its all good just wait til the playoffs and let mne catch some 7-0 team sleeping.

In a 28-team league, a 2-3 record is not a top ten record. If No Fear could demonstrate that they could win those games there would be no question. It goes back to the old adage that you are as good as your record. A team that loses in overtime, a team that loses on a 2pt play and a team that needs to have the ball last to win, will not be good enough to beat those same teams in the playoffs. All three together tell me that your defense is not getting the job done when it counts.

There seem to be 2 different arguments going on here: 1)Who has been the most impressive so far this year, and 2)Who have proven to be the best teams over the years.
#1 will be settled in the playoffs, and we`ve all seen how irrelevant regular season records and point differentials are during the playoffs. (Mudcats outscored opponents by 241 pts one year, but didn`t win it, Big Belly Canes (Lazy Sunday, Mexicali...) outscored opponents by 160 and lost in the Semis, and Sharks outscored opponents by 115, but lost in 2nd round last year)
#2 is a completely different story.
1)It`s tough to argue against No Fear (My Plumber) who have won numerous A-States and Nationals.
2)Lazy (Hurricanes) have won 4 or 5 IFFL championships and a B-States
3)NOVA`s have won a few IFFL/Fairfax Leagues and 2 B-States.
4)Kilroy`s Lions-I don`t think they`ve won a league or a State Tourney, but are ALWAYS knocking on the door in the toughest leagues (see Fairfax A-League) and can beat anyone.
5)Going Deep, Rhinos, Mac Daddies, Outcast always have a good record in the A-leagues and can`t be slept on. Mudd Dawgs look to have a pretty good team based on their results from this year, but I`d never heard of them before. It looks like they were a pretty good B/C team, but it`s tough to put them up with the other teams without consistently winning in an A league. It looks like they`re improving, so good luck the rest of the year!

Dietz Nutz and Goin Deep are definitely A teams....Mudd Dogs will get much more respect if they beat Lazy Sundae the last week.

Kornhole my bad Kornheiser. How come in all your message the Lions are #1 yet when it comes to the MuddDAWGS we have nothing to show for what we did?
Why you always bringing up the past when this is the SPRING LEAGUE 2005? If you wanna look back our team grew from 15 to 20 guys with another team back in the novice league. Could your team say that? How about this we have Memorial Day off and I would think the "DAWGS" would play you in a scrimmage. You pick the park so no hard feeling would be made after the game!

To All, This is an official retraction of "56"`s solicitation...we are NOT available to play that weekend, nor does "56" make said arrangements on behalf of his team. We are available for scrimmages during the weeks before the spring and fall seasons but not intraseason grudge matches or in demonstrations of testosterone levels. Sorry for my player`s outburst. Please disregard.
