In order to answer common questions coming in through email since yesterday:
--------------------------------------------------
In the competitive divisions, there are 16 "A" (League Championship) playoff slots. The remaining 12 teams (who don`t make "A") will compete in the "B" tournament.
If you finish in the top 3 of your division, you are guaranteed an "A" playoff spot.
After taking the top 3 from 4 divisions (12 teams), the next 4 best teams make the "A" playoffs.
If you win your division, you will be seeded in the top 4.
After that, seeds 5-16 will be determined by ranking those 12 teams as a group.
So we could hypothetically have 5 teams from one division make the "A" playoffs and 3 from another.
Currently, there are 12 teams in "A" with 4 losses. These teams can finish no better than 3-4. Any team with 4 wins has clinched a berth, because they can finish no worse than 4-3 (which would be better than at least 12 other teams).
As of today, 10 teams (could be 11 after the rest of the scores are reported) have clinched "A" berths.
One team has clinched its division title. The other division titles will be decided June 5th when as it turns out, the #1-#2 teams from the other 3 divisions play each other.
If you make the "A" playoffs, you`ll have one playoff game on June 12th.
If you are in the "B" tournament, the top 4 seeds get a first round bye, and teams #5-#12 will need to play an early play-in game on the 12th. Win that game and those teams advance to play one of the 4 bye teams later in the morning on the 12th.
-------------------------------------------------
In the Novice division, all 10 teams make the "C" playoffs.
Teams ranked 1-6 get a first round bye. Teams #7-#10 will play each other in round 1.
The last week of regular season games for Novice is June 12th.
We`re hoping that after the June 5th games, we`ll be able to schedule games for June 12th so that we can tell teams (for example) "If you lose your game at 8:30, you`re play-in game will be at 10:30. If you win your game at 8:30, you`ll finish in the top 6 so you`re done for the day".
If we can schedule June 12th so that after the early games we know for sure who will finish #7-#10, then the 2 play-in games will also be scheduled (teams TBD based on early games outcome) later in the morning.
