As mentioned in an earlier post - top 4 A League seeds are division winners, ranked by record - then point differential. Those teams are:

1) CCR NOVAs
2) Rhinos
3) Kilroy`s Lions
4) Lazy Sundae

It was close - as only 4 points separated the top 3 teams.

Next, we took the #2`s and #3`s from each division (8 more teams). Then we took the next 4 teams overall regardless of division to round out the 16.

Teams 5-16 were grouped together and ranked according to record and then point differential. The only time we can bring head-to-head into this is when all teams tied at a certain record have played each other.

There were 5 teams that were 4-3. Goldrush was ranked directly behind Mutiny and Outcast - even though Goldrush had beaten these teams head to head. Why?
first...because No Fear sat between Goldrush and the other 2 teams in point differential
second...if we moved teams around like that then outcast could complain they should be ranked ahead of Dietz nuts since they beat them head to head and are ranked directly behind. So, when you get a cluster of teams tied at a certain record, we use point differential unless all teams tied at that record have played each other.

Head to head does come into play for division standings. For the record - Goldrush finished second in their division. Mutiny finished third. This guaranteed both teams a playoff spot, but it did not guarantee them a certain ranking range from 5-16. Outcast was a wildcard, but once those three teams got combined in with the other 4-3 teams, the head to head records are not applied.

In the B bracket, we give the top 4 byes, but the play-in games and second round games are not standard bracketing. Its 1 v 5-9 winner, 3 v 7-11 winner etc..just a little more variety to make the first and second round games more competitive.

We`ll be able to complete the C bracket after the DWC - Iron Men game next week. For now, there are 2 regular season C games next week, and 2 c play-in games. The loser of the Fratastic-United game plays again the same day against the Underdawgs. The winner is done until the 19th.

Also for clarification, when the initial brackets went up yesterday one of the scores posted was incorrect (No Fear - Magnums). The Magnums coach saw that and emailed me an hour later with the correct score, which caused two of the A League bracket positions to change.

So you would rather us bracket the teams according to an incorrect score or do you want us to get it right?

This is why it`s important for every team to score as many points as possible in the regular season. It`s not a matter of "running up" a score, it`s to ensure the best possible playoff seed.

What do you mean the 7-11 winner? There are only 10 teams in C right?

Lions, don`t you ever stop bitching? For a team that`s undefeated, you seem pretty worried about your first round matchup. Doesn`t it make sense to go by the rules for the playoff seeding and actually play the team you`re supposed to play? But that would make too much sense, wouldn`t it?

Not worried my friend, we know how to get it done on the field.
