All coach`s were sent an email warning about using unrostered players for playoff games and how we`re going to patrol this. If your team shows up with ringers your game will be retroactively forfeited. Period.

Make sure you do this right. In 10 + years no one has ever checked a roster, so my guess is I am not the only coach that has slacked. We suck. We dont have ringers. I KNOW FIRST HAND many of the "big teams" have fudged rosters (esp county info). So if you do this at all, you have to do it for EVERY WINNER and ANY indiscretion has to equal a forfeit INCLUDING county info. Otherwise it will come accross as a biased witch hunt. Just my 2 cents. We are going to get killed, so it doesnt matter to us!!!

No, the league will not be performing wholesale team roster checks - we`re handling it in a different way.
As per out of county, the out of county fee is a Fairfax County rule. The County`s new method of enforcing the rule is to do their own spot checks (which is why we do not ask teams for driver`s license photocopies anymore). If a roster is suspect, they will contact the coach themselves and collect the fees + a $150.00 penalty. This is sort of like random IRS audits.
