Potomac vs. Lakeside

20-18

Very evenly matched game. Both teams only had 8 players. Potomac scored the first touchdown and went up 6-0 after Nick S. scored on a deep pass from Chris H., he proceeded to miss the extra point. Lakeside`s next drive stalled after Pat F. intercepted their QB on third down. Potomac scored two plays later on another pass from QB Chris H. to WR Nick S. Nick S. made the extra point to put underdogg Potomac up 13-0. After a time consuming drive Lakeside QB scored on a 25 yard touchdown run on fourth down with :17 ticks left in the first half. Lakeside kicker pushed the extra point wide right. HALFTIME 13-6

Lakeside got the ball in the second half and went down right down and scored...after Sean N. blocked the extrapoint the score was 13-12.

Potomac got the ball on their own 19 with 5 minutes remaining. QB Chris H. threw a 40 yard touch pass to Nick S. who caught the ball and sprinted an additional 41 yards for his third touchdown of the game. Nick S. made the EXP to put Potomac up 20-12 with a little more than 4 mintues left.

Lakeside drove down in just over two minutes to score but when they missed the 2 point when their WR came down out of bounds. All Potomac needed to do now was get one first down and managed to do so with 3 straight option plays. Was a good, hard fought game. Bearcats struck first in the first half with a 30yd touchdown pass to go up 6-0 (after the PAT was blocked). The Magnums came back with a nice 30yd touchdown of their own and with the added extra point, took the lead 7-6. Bearcats drove down the field and were able to capitalize on a goaline pass across the middle and take the lead. After a failed 2 point conversion, Bearcats had the lead 12-7. The Magnums were able to put a nice drive together and finished it off with a double pass for the touchdown on the goal line. The Magnums converted their two point conversion and took the lead 15-12 with just under two minutes left in the game. The Bearcats made good use of their two minute offense and drove down to the Magnums goal line with 30 seconds left. The Magnums defense held them until 4th down. After a nice scramble by the Bearcats QB, he was able to find his receiver in the back of the endzone for the game winning score with 20 seconds left. Another missed PAT put the final score at 18-15 Bearcats.
