Lazy Sundae stopped the Rhinos on their opening possession with a strong pass rush. On their ensuing possession, Lazy Sundae came up with their first of several big plays, scoring on a 60 yard pass play to go up 7-0.

The Rhinos made some adjustments on offense, spreading the ball around behind the line of scrimmage. They methodically worked the ball downfield and scored to tie the game at 7-7.

Lazy Sundae struck again with the big play and went up 14-7. Rhinos again worked downfield using double passes and scrambles to tie the game 14-14. That would be the halftime score.

The second half featured extremely long drives, and field goals by both teams. The Rhinos kicked one through with 35 seconds in the game to tie it at 17-17.

A Lazy Sundae 50 yard field goal attempt with 4 seconds left fell 2 feet short of the uprights, and the game went into overtime.

In OT, Lazy Sundae intercepted the Rhinos on 2nd down to take possession needing just a field goal to win. They just missed a 25 yarder on 4th down in the first overtime and the game went into double overtime.

The Rhinos scored a touchdown to go up 24-17. After Lazy Sundae ran the ball to the 2 yard line on their first play in the second overtime, a tipped and bobbled ball wound up in the hands of a Rhino - ending the game, and giving the #2 seed and 10 year tenured Rhinos their first IFFL Spring Championship.

Congratulations Chris. It was a tough loss to take, and you guys did everything you had to to win. Hats off to you and your team.

~Tom

GREAT GAME!!!

That`s how a final game should be played! Lazy Sundae is a team filled with very talented players. Both teams played hard and kept it clean. I witnessed several instances where players from opposing teams congratulated each other on good plays.

Congratulations to my fellow Rhinos and hats off to Lazy Sundae!

First of all I don`t play in the A division so don`t call me an idiot because I am going just on what I saw yesterday. Lazy Sundae looked like they have more athletics and talent and big plays. Rhinos team has more composure and team work and smart plays. Lazy Sundae had more emotion and talking, and sometimes they were arguing with themselves. Rhinos didn`t talk alot and seemed to have a "no pressure" attitude and did not get intimidated when Lazy Sundae shut them down on the first drive and then scored on them right away. Lazy Sundae got all the bad breaks. On one play a touchdown pass hit a branch in that one corner where there is a tree near the endzone. They also got a call reversed on a Rhinos field goal that would have made the game over and missed a field goal to win it by like inches. It was like it was destiny for the Rhinos win it and they did not choke when there was a big play they had to make. Both teams are very good and it was a great game to watch the two different kinds of teams play each other.
