The Red Storm struck on their first two drives and shut down the DWC offense to take a 14-0 halftime lead.
DWC made some adjustments at halftime. They received the ball in the second half and marched down the field to make it 14-7.
The Red Storm ran an option on their next possession and the pitch was intercepted. DWC scored three plays later to make it 14-14.
The Red Storm answered with a great drive. The QB and WR made a great pass/catch to the corner making the score 21-14. DWC came right back with a 75 yard pass to make it 21-21.
In typical Red Storm fashion, they answered with a double pass good for over 60 yards. With 4th in goal from the 2 yard line with 30 seconds left, the Red Storm went for it and the pass was deflected.....OT
Red Storm had the ball first and scored on the first play making the score 28-21. DWC tried to answer and got the ball to the 2 yard line. The next play, they ran an option and bobbled the ball losing 6 yards. The next play DWC throws an INT....Game Over.

We watched this game and it was pretty exciting. I also got the feeling there wasn`t much love between these two teams. But one thing boggles me... Red Storm, when the score was tied, 30 seconds left, 4th down from the opponents 2... why did you go for 6? Why not the field goal? You seemed to have a decent kicker?
Just curious...

I think Red Storm was down 3, kicking the field goal would have sent it into OT, TD for the win.

That doesn`t make sense... they were tied at the time, if they were ahead, it would have never gone to OT.

Kicking field goals is not our fashion...I`m sure my cousin the QB (and kicker, mainly because no one else has the balls to do it)agrees that he is much more comfortable throwing the ball than kicking it...no matter how close. Either way, we won anyways.
