Based on the BB, but also considering the notion that one game is played at a time in the regular season. This would have to be my top 8. after that the next to spots are up for grabs.
#1-MyPlummer- Hands down, the best team in Northern Virginia. They are always tuff during the regular season, They have a great QB, sick wide-out and a athletic "O" Line. But what makes them stand atop of the poll is the play at states.
#2-Kerns- They have a strong core of players. They have a good mix of speed players and tuff players. That QB makes them go on offence. We will see just how good that defense is. They gave up some points at the BB
#3-Canes/LazySun.-This team is a classy team that plays hard. I know that this team beat Kerns in the BB, BUT, they did have some players from MyPlummer (#1 team in Northern Virginia)on the team on Sunday. The players that they did pick up were able to change the teams whole dynamic. Now if these players stay on this team for the fall season, i would have to move them to #2.
#4-Lions- This team has a really tuff defense. It looks like the added some players in key positions. But the offence seemed like it need some help. They say, "Defense wins championships". This theory will be put to the test with this team. They have a championship quality defense. But will the offence put up the points needed to win games.
#5-Sharks- This team is good. They have a tuff defense and a smart offense. They did not have the regular QB for the BB, so it is hard to grade them, based on there BB showing. They are the Northern Virginia Fall A League Champs back to back seasons.
#6-Going Deep- Surprise, surprise! This team had a coming out party this year at the BB. They beat some elite teams along the way to the final four. They have been playing on Sundays only because they can’t field a team during the weeknights. Anyone who played this team, knows that they are the real deal, any one who watched them play got to see the long ball. We will see if the have the Defense to stop someone, and stay away from shootouts.
#7-NOVAS- It was hard to see how good this team is going to be. It didn’t seem to have half the team out there. From the looks of things, it seemed that the Lions picked up some of there players. But they were able to beat the Rhinos (spring champs 05) 29-9. They must have something left in the tank. They are a vet. team. They have won championships and know how to win. I am sure that they are a different team come Fall.
#8-Rhinos- This is a good team that does not make mistakes. They have a good defense that has a bend, don’t break mentality. They have a smart QB that can break down an undisciplined defense. We will have to see how they do under the lights, before we can make a clear assessment of this team. They do play with class. That is for sure.

From what I saw this past weekend Kornheiser is right on. I would have to agree with all this. I sure hope all these top 10`s play in the Fall at night.

the guys from my plumber that played with lazy at the bb will not be with them in the fall, BUT, they did little to help lazy with the tourney win. believe me, lazy belongs closer to the top regardless.

on the last comment, i know that Lazy is a good team and that is why i have them at the top. i just think that if they had the MyPlummer players full time that would move them from #3 to #2... they may not have helped with in the tourney win, but i know that they would help to improve the team, overall. Kerns and Lazy are neck and neck for the #2 spot.just as i think the Lions and Sharks are neck and neck for the #4 spot.

One of My plumbers players caught a swing pass and then made the first of two pitches to get it in the endzone the last play of the Goin Deep game to get to the championship game. Not taking anything away from Lazy`s title.

that is my point, the plumber players didn`t help lazy or novas, they are finished up here. last year they couldn`t get it done in the ffx a league and this year will be no different. they had their run, their time has come and gone. now the new sheriffs are in town and my plumber is left with nothing more than a middle of the road team, just my opinion.

I play for My Plumber (I`m the Center and sometimes LB when times are REALLY hard), and I see a lot of people ranking My Plumber at #1. To be honest, I don`t know if we deserve it. I do think we have a great group of guys and a lot of talent (just need to gel and show up every week), and we are always competitive, but in my 2 years playing, we haven`t won any championships. So, as much as my pride would like to accept the #1 ranking, I don`t know that at this point we deserve it. I do believe we should be ranked high overall, but probably not #1. There are a lot of other teams that certainly could contend: Lions, NOVAS, Lazy, Going Deep, Kerns, to name a few. Just my 2 cents.
BUT, with that in mind, we certainly hope to change that this season. We`ve made a few key acquisitions this offseason. Good luck to all the teams this season ... but of course, a little more to My Plumber. ;)

That was a bit over the top. I never said our time was up ... I`m just saying ranking us #1 in the preseason is a bit presumptuous since we haven`t won lately. We ALWAYS play solid against any team, that doesn`t mean we`re done.

man who ever you are, talking all this sh!t, you must not play with one of these 5 teams... because i am the biggest Sh!t talker out there (LIONS 52)... but i know that these 5 teams all keep it real and have respect for each other... and to say that MyPlumber is done is crazy... who are the REAL teams that you are talking about??? i would like to know... i know that no one from my team would be talking this much...

hahaha. now i know that you dont play on any of these teams. if you did, you would know that i back up all the sh!t that i talk. i am sure that everyone on these elite teams will tell you the same thing. as for you tryn to get me going here on the board. i save that for the field. but i will tell you this, i take all comers, big, small, ive hit them all. if you bring it, you better bring all you got, cause this brick house doesn’t back down from no one.

lions 52, you are right, i mean you are well on your way to the flag football hall of fame. i have never seen anyone on a flag football field who can compete with you man, you are the real deal, and now i am just crossing my fingers and praying that i never have to face you on the field because as everyone from the top 5 teams knows, you are a brick house that don`t back down from no one.

This couldn`t be further from the truth, as the 3 players from My Plumber contributed immensely to our championship. We had major contributions from everybody, led by Sef (#81) and Deon (#33) who both played outstanding the entire tournament (and for all our games, for that matter).
Also, we appreciate the high rankings, but since we got worked in the Fairfax A League last year, we`ll have to live up to the expectations. We have the utmost respect for Kerns, Sharks, Lions, NOVAS, Rhinos, My Plumber, Goin Deep, et. all, so I`m looking forward to a helluva Fall League.

I bet the onlooker is off here. I don`t play on either of these teams but I guarantee that Sharks and Lions are on top of there respect divisions come the fall. There are the fastest and strongest teams out there. You will see! Lazy will have problems with these two teams.

Always have had trouble with both teams. I never once said they were average teams either. Sharks are proven winners and the Lions just have a tough luck late in the season. I`m humble but my arrogance won`t let me put my team too low on the pole.

I am the guy who was wearing the 54 Zack thomas jersey. I am the right guard for My Plumber. If you think we didn`t help Lazy to win you are sadly mistaken. Lazy is a good team and we helped them. If you don`t think so ask anyone who played against me. Since you know who I am if you want to trash talk then introduce yourself on the field. I dare you.

I don`t know about the trash talking part zack thomas, but you pulled a long reception touchdown against us (nautilus) after we missed your flag about 8 times some how. but did i see you score again in another game? i couldn`t tell from the other field.

Zack Thomas also scored a long (say around 50 yards) TD on us in our Bark Bowl game with Lazy. For a big man, he was really moving!
