A co-worker of mine has a kid who plays in the Reston Youth Football league, and they need coaches. They had more than 300 kids show up to play and need more coaches. Practice 1 day a week and game on Saturday. This is your chance to share your flag football knowledge and make a difference in the lives of these kids. I’m very happy to announce that we’ve had an overwhelming response so far with well over 300 kids signed up to play Flag Football. That’s the good news, the challenge now is to get coaches for all of those teams. Right now we’ve got some coaches with 2 or 3 teams each and that’s a real challenge. We really need to get a few more coaches. The time commitment is fairly minimal with one practice during the week (you schedule it) and then the game on Sat morning (between 0900-1300). So if you’re one of those parents (dad or mom) that comes to every practice and game please consider taking a team or even being an assistant coach to help cover gaps, and share duties. (Head coaches get their registration fee refunded). We’re having our initial coaches’ meeting this evening at 6:30 pm at the Reston Community Center, team rosters will be given out, rules discussed and Q&A session for those new to the program.
