Hello Shay – Could you please post the tournament info on your Sunday website and send to the coaches.. We have talked to a few teams already and are getting good feed back from them. Tom you were right, teams do want a nice tournament..
IFFL/Maryland
Is hosting two divisions 8 team single elimination tournament in Maryland. This tournament will have top prizes for both divisions which will be a paid entry fee into the (VFFA) VA State Tournament this December in Fairfax VA.. This 88 plus team tournament is one of the primer tournament around and its coming to our back yard again. This A/B+ & B/C divisions tournament is a great opportunity to get teams ready for state tournament and also gives teams a chance to have the entry fee paid for….
Entry Fee: $260 per team
Deadline for Registration: November 14, 2011
Location: Tucker Road Park and Recreation (directly across the bridge)
Date: November 20, 2011
Time: 8:00 am until
Prizes: Top prize Entry fee paid to VA States Tournament for A/B+ and B/C divisions Also ,2nd,3rd Place Trophies (Both Divisions)

Isn`t the fee for states $250 per team ? Sounds like a money making scheme to me .Where does the extra money go ? A worthy cause ?

I seriously doubt that this is a money making scheme. It`s tough to get rich off of tourneys. If there`s anything left over after they pay for prizes, fields, refs and any other expenses, who cares if they make money on it or not? It`s not like there`s some charter in place that says any flag tourney has to be non-profit or donating to charity.

To State.. I think the state tournament is $280 and I agree with Al. After all of those expenses, it may be some money if any. I think this tournament gives a chance to teams that doesn`t have a bid to states..

Guys Tom and I are not running this but for what it`s worth the price looks about right. I know they have to pay for the two fields in MD and the price for that is $30 per hour for each field, that along with other ref fee’s and the two paid bids to States. Each bid is $200 as well.
If you think you may want to play but think the cost is to much you can contact Charles

THANKS SHAY,, Just a lit history... We were asked by Tom & Shey to start a league in MD because they want to expend the IFFL. For some reason we could get enough teams to start that league, so Tom thought it would be a good idea to do tournaments in MD and that would increase the number bids we can get for states and nationals which are the bigger tournaments.. Tom will be posting the registration link soon and a number of teams are interested. It is just another way to get to the bigger tournament..

We actually don`t have a C league in the IFFL. We have a C playoff, but all of our teams are members of registered leagues.
