Well, finally something worth writing about in this league.  I could have continued with my `Teams Who Sucked` posts for the entire year, but I can only pick on the Rhinos so much before it gets old.  Speaking of old, word on the street is that Lazy Sundae may have a poor turnout for this weekend as their game time is the same time as bingo at the retirement home.  Good Lord, put the two teams together and they could draw Social Security and actually have enough to field a full team!  Too bad it won`t ever happen.  The Geriatric Dream Team will have to wait, so on to the playoff matchups! ROUND ONE GMU Field #3 Pain(8) vs Collision (9) - Speaking of teams who can`t get anyone to show up, Gump and his Coed All-Stars, despite their decent record have been a shadow of their former selves all year long.  Between season ending injuries chasing tail and hangovers keeping them from showing up to 8 AM games, it`s actually quite admirable they were able to not forfeit this year.  The Painhounds on the other hand are having one their best seasons to date, and have never beaten Collision.  Look for Ole Noodle Arm to try and take advantage of a depleted D line to use his legs to setup the big play over the top against a below average Gump playing safety.  Pain wins this by a touchdown or more. Ligers (7) vs Punishers (10) - This is a much better matchup than most will give it credit for.  The Ligers won the C championship last Spring (before going 0-fer for the second time in their history) and The Punishers made their way to the B title game in the Fall before losing to Stone Cold (BTW, am I the only who is finally starting to the think the post game fight comment is funny just because it`s ludicrous?  Yes?  Okay, never mind.)  So, two teams with recent title game experience squaring off.  Look for Punishers O and D lines to be the difference factor in this game.  I got them winning by a jump ball TD. GMU Field #4 Penetrators (5) vs Alter Ego (12) - Stop playing Banditos, I know it`s you.  Sure, you`ve still got some of those Red Devils floating around, but I know.  Here`s my round one upset, look for the Robot Egos to sneak by our fave Mormon QB and his One Man receiving team in a close one.  If Sheri puts this matchup over 3 points for either team, stay away. Outcast (6) vs Imposters (11)  - Man, this game would have been soooo much more fun to watch if Margot Kidder were still playing QB.  Watching that guy implode is worth the price of admission (free, duh.) alone.  Now that he`s not able to play (hate the injury, get well soon), skip this game as Outcast is going to run away with it. ROUND TWO Wolves (1) vs Pain (8) - And here we go again, Los Lobos break Noodle Arm and his Munchkin receiving corps collective hearts once again.  This time it won`t even be close.  The most boring team in the IFFL cruises against the against Chris Brown et al, beating them like Rhianna should have.  The only enjoyable part of this is we won`t have to hear them talk anymore.  The Truth (2) vs Punishers (10) - Look, at the end of the day, the only thing weaker than Bundy`s will power with a dozen doughnuts sitting in front of him was the The Truth`s schedule this year.  Put them in any other division and they not only give up points, but they probably lose one or two and might not even be in the `A` playoffs.  They also have the easiest damn draw in the whole tourney, and looking at the spanking they gave NTAC last Fall, I have a hard time not giving them the win here.  No shutout this time though, my inside sources tell me that Miller has planned to bring assorted pastries to the game to try and distract Bundy Belli-check into a food coma. Scavengers (4) vs Alter Ego (12) - The robot dream ends here.  With Jeremy Beibersdorf back at the helm and his publicity tour for the release of Never Say Never all done (Get yours Friday ladies!) look for the teen dream to lead Skee-Lo Nunnallay and his Ballers on a straight baseball bat beat-down of Dandito`s Egos and on to the Final Four.  Lazy Sundae (3) vs Outcast (6) - And here`s your official second round upset pick of the day.  Outcast has been on a tear since losing to the Sef and his Ageless Wonders and they`re looking for some revenge.  Sef gave them some extra messageboard motivation earlier this year when he called them the worst team he`s ever played, even if was `back in the 19th century`, word on the street is Tic and Company have taken umbrage to Methuselah calling them out publicly and are looking to extra some revenge.  Outcast by two scores in this one.
