Wow. From what I read they didn`t even trash, they were just pissed that their games got canceled, and *****ed about it on the message board, so their head official dimed them out to the school principal who took away the fields to protect them!

To all you donks that like to ***** and moan every time there is weather issue read what`s going on in Hburg. From what I can tell some people complained about rainouts and pissed off the refs. Now their league is in shambles and from the looks of things is no more this Spring. I`m sure there`s more to it than that, but just everybody roll with the weather issues and don`t be such clowns. It could always be worse.

We pay the refs, for the most part they are good. However, if they make bad calls, people can complain about a bad call. STFU you tool.
I`m sure there is more to Hburg losing the season than complaining about a rainout.

I`ll be the first to admit I don`t know how the Hburg league is set up or ran. All I was saying was for everyone to keep what happened in Hburg in mind next time they want to ***** and moan about the weather.

After reading the idiotic posts about playing yesterday I now fully understand Dot’s decision to retire!!!
Have any of you ever heard the saying “a few rotten apples can spoil the bunch”? Well that sayings was never more true than yesterday! After pondering why anyone would think it was Ok to intentionally destroy city property that has been so generously loaned to us so we can enjoy flag football once a week. The selfishness in those posts was enough to make me doubt the future of this league.
With that being said, I emailed a link to our message board to the principal; because whether you believe it or not he ultimately decides if we can use the field behind his school! After explaining the situation to him and having him read your moronic posts he has decided that it is in his best interest to no longer allow us to play at the school. I sure hope all you self-centered idiots that thought we should play yesterday in 30 degree temperatures with 2 inches of snow on the ground are happy now. Good luck finding a new field in a week as we have already assured Pleasant Valley that we will stay off that field for an entire year.
I also contacted my friends at parks and rec and told them the same story. They also agreed with my decision 100% and have agreed to no longer paint or take care of our fields at any location. So once again thanks to the posts of a few, I hope you are all happy with the comments directed at me yesterday!
Lastly, after discussing it with the other officials and having them read all of the associated posts about how you feel it is perfectly OK for us to be out in those conditions for 6 ½ hours at $20.00, you will need to be looking for new officials next week as well! Yes, I said $20 an hour, because in case you have forgotten the officials agreed to take a cut in pay this year to help cover $600 of the necessary insurance costs!

That`s why we respect SHAY and TOM for all their hard work for giving us Weeknight and Sunday. Yes, we may not get turf fields or refs with bad calls but at least we have a field to play on EVERY Sunday. If SHAY wanted to do the same thing he could but he won`t because he knows that out of all the players in the league, only a few *****es complain about the rain, fields, and refs.

There is a huge difference between this league and the Hburg League.
1. More teams, higher fees = higher paid refs
2. County permits for fields = COUNTY MAKES THE CALL IF GAMES ARE ON OR OFF
For the most part, the refs in both the weekend and weeknight league are very good. Sure, there are some missed calls, some bad calls, but for the most part, they are very good. I also think the pay is higher for our refs...and since we have more teams, all paying $760 per team, the refs deserve to be paid more.
Our league uses county fields. This is a big difference than the HBurg league that relies on a relationship with the principal of a school. We can complain and moan about how much we want to play, but the bottom line, if the COUNTY feels the field will be damaged, the game will be cancelled.
It is very difficult to compare the two leagues.
This message board was set up as a forum for information, smack talk, bragging, bashing, etc....and should stay that way. If there are comments that registered users don`t like, the comments can be deleted. It sounds like this "Chad" person from HBurg just wanted to screw the rest of the league by going to the principal and tattling on the league....and it worked.

Yeah, the county does make that call for us. But so do Tom/Shay and our refs. Carlton et al have the power to cancel games if they feel the field playing conditions are bad.
