ANNOUNCEMENT:

;
Games are on for today.

We are going to try to get the games in.

The only issue is the County may come out the some of the fields and shut some or all the fields down. If that happens games stopped will be made up.

Seriously consider a C league. There were at least 3teams at lake fairfax that were first time teams (well not TNT) and it showed. And judging by some of the other scores, it was the theme of the day.

Agreed

Wolves Killed Two teams back to back. Put 70 points on the board. And only took 7.

No doubt. I almost feel bad for a bunch of these new teams. Sign up and get waxed for 2 months......doesnt sound like much fun. Let the C leaguers play other C leaguers.

Good question and I agree I know we need a Novice league but over the last few years had to many teams that didn`t want to move up from C to B and from B to A so we went back to the Open format for this season only to reset things.

A mass email was sent out to all the coaches few months back but here is the plan:

This Spring Open with an A/B/C Playoffs

In the fall we will go to an A/B format, where 50% of the teams will have to play in the A league. The playoffs will be the same A/B/C.

Then by the Spring of 2012 we will have an A/B format again, and we MAY bring back a Novice league for that season.

*If we bring the Novice League back it will be for new teams and teams that have played less then 2 years, not B or C teams that change there name to stay in the Novice league.

i understand your delimna. Maybe to filter teams out, just schedule week 1 and after that pick all the Novice teams out, and everybody else Open. My concern is not really the B teams, and even the veteran C teams that understand the game just aren`t that good, but I honestly watched 3 teams Sunday that probably didn`t get a first down all game and barely complete a pass.

If captains agreed, I don`t think it`ll be a far stretch to break some of these teams off NOW.

I appreciate your opinion but the league will remain as is.

The teams will be broken up at the playoffs, and by this fall it will give us an idea of what were going to do for the future.

If you want to talk to me offline on this you can email me at shay@iffl.us and I will give you a good number to call me.

Thanks

Thanks for running the league, Shay. We know it`s a lot of time and effort and there are plenty of critics out there who wouldn`t take the time to do it themselves but have plenty of time to complain. You can`t make everyone happy! The silent majority appreciates all of your and Tom`s efforts.

Understood Shay.

@Thanks, I`m not one of these random guys out to criticize shay or his efforts. All are greatly appreciated. I just stated an opinion from my observation this weekend. Its one thing to struggle if your team is just not good, but it`s another not to be able to even compete. It is what it is. I envision most of those teams will struggle to get players to show up toward the end of the season.

16 games & 8 were decided by more than 2 scores. Of those 8 games, 6 involved Wolves, Lazy, and Collision. Wolves and Lazy have been dominating Spring for a long time regardless of who they play. Collision is now a top 5 A level team. Overall was a pretty competative weekend.
