1. Wolves - The Wolves look completely unstoppable. Even when they don`t have a full squad they find a way to win. The only real challengers to Los Lobos this year are the Nuts and maybe the Pitbulls. The Rhinos might challenge them if their QB was a bit more seasoned, but only a season removed from C he`s still learning the ropes of big boy football.

2. Dietze Nuts - Perennial winners. And of course it`s HILARIOUS to say their name out loud. Try it one time. I have. "We`ve got Dietz Nuts next week." Yup, not to mention they have one of the top QBs in the league. Accurate, quick release, solid on both sides of the line. Nothing major to write home about in the WR category, but they`re all solid, don`t drop balls and they`ll make you pay if you miss a flag. They seemed to have dodged a bullet this week by avoiding a doubleheader. I don`t think The Truth can beat them if they`re fresh, but if they had to play the Pitbulls and then The Truth, they may have lost one of those.

3. Pitbulls - No talent ass clowns. I kid, I kid. They look pretty good now, wait until playoffs when all their best talent comes out to play. Yeah, they`ve got Slash and Cube right now, but Tyson`s here and there. When the playoffs roll around look for him to be a full time asset and for the Pitbulls to make a deep run.

4. Rhinos - Old Man Winter, aka LOCS has his defense running at top form, and yeah, maybe it`s been against lower tier talent, but you simply cannot ignore only allowing 7 points in four games. However, you also can`t ignore the fact that they`ve only put up 47 points in those same four games. The now defunct Smokin` Aces are only 9 points short of their season total. If Big Orange doesn`t get the offense going soon, it may be one and done for these pachyderms.

5. Pain - God, all I`ve heard about is how much better these guys would be if the old Wolves QB hadn`t broken his hand in game one of the season. He did, he`s out and it`s H-Wood to the rescue. Is he going to be enough to get it done in the A playoffs? It really all depends on the draw. They could win one or two, but they can`t ride Keenan`s legs and Dre`s smurf-like sneakiness to a title. That`s okay Dre, you can get your hardware on the weeknights with TC.

6. Collision - This is a team that week in and week out makes it clear they`re on their way. Their QB is what I like to call Forrest Gump good. When you look at the guy, all you can think is does this bama have any clue and then he gets the ball in his hands and makes the other team realize, life IS like a box of chocolates and an ass-whooping is what you`re going to get! Very smart with the ball, quick release and not a bad runner either. He has a couple nice weapons and the overall team speed is high. Again, this is a team that`ll live and die by their draw, but they could make some noise in the playoffs.

7. Lazy Sundae - These guys are becoming the grandparents of the league, always ready with some Werther`s candy in their pockets. Don`t let their collective age (3000) fool you though, when the playoffs come around they`ll come out of the woodwork to win one or two, although I don`t believe they`re a threat for the ship anymore.

8. The Penetrators - I swear this name gives me the creeps. Do you think any of these guys would last long in jail? No, but they have a nice QB, although I fail to see the McNabb comparisons he continually draws and a super speed guy in Agent Zero. I`ve always felt their defense, especially their pass rush is suspect and as a result they can easily give up yardage to the better teams. These guys would be the ideal draw for a team like Pain who loves to release those linemen and let Hollywood tear it up with his legs.

9. The Truth - The clowns of the league, right? Well I`m starting to believe in these bozos after playing the Pitbulls close and then trouncing WTF on Sunday. Say what you want about Bundy`s fat ass, but putting up 40 points against anyone is impressive. However, after watching them play I just don`t think they quite have what it takes to win in A yet. They`re still missing a few key positions that could get them over the top.

10. United - The knock on United is they rely on the trickery and pitching too much, with a QB who while he can break some ankles, can`t make the big throws needed to win the bigger games. This is another team that`s defense is suspect and has a poor point differential (only one lower in the top ten is Lazy). In United`s illustrious history they`ve only won an A playoff game once, don`t look for that to change this year.

They played a double header last weekend. Lamont ya big dummy!

Yes, and they were scheduled to play Pitbulls and then The Truth until Smokin` Aces dropped out. As a result, Shay moved their matchup with The Truth to the last week of the season, and they still have to play a doubleheader, just The Truth and then WTF instead.

Do your research before you call names little man.

I think there are a few teams that could sneak into A. Goldrush seems to be competitive this year and could possibly win out the rest of their games and surprise some people.I think Banditios could get in as well as the Blue Knights ( full squad only). Scavengers are teetering on the edge ,but could be a spoiler.

I agree, and may do an analysis of the A playoff situations soon, but really was just trying to examine who the top 10 teams in Open were right now.

@13 - I realize Truth got the best of The Pens in the Fall playoffs, but The Pens own the series between the two 2-1 as of now. The Pens have also scored more points in less games and have a higher AVPD right now, thus why they get the higher ranking.

@hmmm - Yeah, I know, Banditos ALMOST beat them. They came real close, but close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Of course, this isn`t a playoff writeup. I can almost promise you the Wolves won`t win it all. Classic playoff choke artists right there.

Dunno about the Rhinos game, but it looks like I was wrong about them Wolves. Seems like the injury bug has really took them down a notch, and given that they`ve dropped out of weeknight they may have a hard time doing anything in the A playoffs.

the usual close hard fought game. rhinos stayed close even with the back up QB. lazy`s pass rush was strong and rhinos d shut Lazy down the whole second half but a pick in the endzone was the difference, crazy wind at BC made passing tough

As expected it was a good hard fought, clean game between two old-time rivals.. It should be noted that Lazy also played w/ their backup QB.

not much left in the tank. lazy is terrible, i watched the whole game and if they were a real threat to win something they would have blown rhinos out. rhinos were terrible and lazy could only come out with a 3 point win? NOT contenders...

re: but

Since you watched the whole game, you either a. had to play before us or b. more than likely played after us. So you either play for Stone Cold, United, Outlaws or Goldrush. So to use your logic, since the Rhinos and Lazy are terrible, what does that make your team? More than likely you play for Outlaws or Goldrush because I personally didn`t see any Stone Cold or United players stick around for our game.
