If Rude Buddha(2-5) beat Team Beer…
And Camel H (3-4) won both ,
-And Rebels lost (2-5) = Camel H #6, Ligers#7 (2-5), Rebels #8 (Ligers and Rebels both beat Rude)
-And Rebels won (3-4)= Camel H #6, Rebels#7, Ligers #8(2-5) (ligers beat Rude, CH beat rebels)
And Camel H (2-5) beat Ligers (2-5) but lost to Stone Cold,
-And Rebels lost (2-5) = CH#6(2-1), Ligers#7(1-1), Rebs#8(1-1)..RB out (1-2)
-And Rebels won (3-4) = Rebs#6, Ligers#7,CH#8 (unless CH beat Ligers by 40, then RB#8 – Ligers out)
And Camel H (2-5) beat Stone Cold but lost to Ligers
-And Rebels lost (2-5) = Ligers#6(2-0),Rebels#7(1-1),Rude B#8(1-2), CH(1-2) OUT head to head
-And Rebels won (3-4) = Rebs#6, Ligers#7(2-0), CH#8(1-1)-if they lose to Ligers < 21..or if >21 RB#8
And Camel H lost both (1-6)= Rebs or Ligers: #6 or #7, RB#8…CH out
If Rude Buddha (1-6) lost to Team Beer…
-And Camel H (3-4) won both = CH#6, Rebels&Ligers #7,#8 or #8,#7…RB out
-And Camel H (2-5) beat Ligers (2-5) but lost to Stone Cold = CH#6 or #7, Rebels#6/#7/#8, Ligers #7/#8, RB out
-And Camel H (2-5) beat Stone Cold but lost to Ligers = Ligers#6, Rebels/CH: #7/#8…RB out
-And Camel H lost both (1-6)=Ligers/Rebels:#6/#7, RB#8…CH out
As you can see from the above, Rebels can’t be eliminated – they’ve essentially clinched. Ligers can only be eliminated under one scenario. Camel`s chances of clinching are better than Rude under all scenarios, but CH also have a shot at making the 6th seed in several scenarios.
So, here’s what we’ll do:
7:30, BP#7: Rude vs Camel. Winner will play WTF at 10:20 at PT#2. Tie game = Camel advances. So Rude has to win, Camel needs a win or tie. Loser of this game (or Rude if a tie) will enter the consolation tournament on 11/15.
8:00 GB#5: Grand Hustle vs Team Beer. Winner advances to play 10:20PT#2 winner in semis on 11/15. If Team Beer loses, they will enter the consolation tournament on 11/15.
9:10 PT#2: TNT vs Ligers. Winner advances to play 9:10 PT#3 winner in semis on 11/15. If Ligers lose, they enter consolation tournament on 11/15.
9:10 PT#3: Stone Cold vs Rebels. Winner advances to play 9:10 PT#2 winner in semis on 11/15. If Rebels lose, they enter consolation tournament on 11/15.
10:20, PT#2: WTF vs 7:30BP#7 winner. Winner advances to semis on 11/15, if loser is Camel (and not Rude or WTF), Camel drops to consolation tournament on 11/15.
Bulldogs are already in the consolation tournament. I`ll do the brackets for that tournament after Sunday`s games.

Thanks Tom I got.................Uhhhh could you explain it again?

so
Nov 02, 2009 1:50 PM | | ; |
hypothetically, there could be 6 consolation teams for the tournament during 11/15 weekend: VA Bulldogs, Rude Buddha (if they lose to Camel), Camel Honkies (if they lose to WTF), Team Beer (if they lose to GH), Ligers (if they lose to TNT), and Rebels (if they lose to SC). How will that work then?

let Tom out up brackets so you can understand a little better. There are alot of scenarios to keep up with. Stone Cold team getting 7 games is the ? for me.

???
Nov 02, 2009 2:11 PM | | ; |
Technically speaking VaBulldogs should have still had a shot at getting the 8th spot. If RB and CH lost all the rest of their games which they probably would. Then VaBulldogs would take the 8th seed. Vabulldogs beat RB and RB beat CH. CH and VaBulldogs never played.

Technically speaking VaBulldogs should have still had a shot at getting the 8th spot.
If CH had lost both games by a combined 76+ and RB had lost by 50+(any points over 76 that Ch lost by)...then yes, but right now we have to assume the above scenario wouldn`t happen or we`ll never finish the season.

Is there any way for the teams that have not played the full 7 reg season games to play during this week sometime? Make these assumptions real?

No - we don`t have the schedule space.

I thought it went Head to Head before point differencial

Nov 02, 2009 3:35 PM | | ; |
There are at least 3 teams guaranteed to be playing in the 11/15 C consolation tournament (probably to be held at Greenbriar#5) and those teams are: VA Bulldogs, loser of Stone Cold/Rebels game, loser of Rude Buddha/Camel Honkies game. If Team Beer and/or Ligers lose that would make 5 teams in it. If the Camel Honkies win game #1 Sunday, but lose game#2 that would make 6 teams.
Before posting the schedule and format for the consolation tournament, we`ll wait for Sunday`s results. No sense in posting a schedule for a tournament with an undetermined number of participants.
WTF, TNT, Grand Hustle: all have 7 regular season games played so if they lose Sunday their season is finished.
Stone Cold: has 5 games played, #6 will be their playoff quarterfinal. If they lose Sunday, they drop to the consolation tournament for game#7. If they win they advance to league semis for game#7. If they do not get past semis, or do not win first colsolation tournament game (and advance), they`ll get an $80 refund check.
Team Beer, Ligers & Rebels: have 6 games played. #7 will be their playoff quarterfinal. If they win, they move on to game #8 (semifinal). If they lose, game#8 is a consolation tournament game.
Rude Buddha: has 6 games played, #7 will be their playoff play-in game. Beyond that, game#8 will be a playoff quarterfinal or a consolation tournament game.
Camel Honkies: has 5 games played, #6 will be their playoff play-in game. #7 will be their playoff quarterfinal *or* a consolation tournament game. If they win the play-in game but lose the quarterfinal, game#8 will be a consolation tournament game. If they lose the play-in AND their first consolation tournament game, they will get a $80 refund.

Okay, I rechecked according to that scenario and you are correct (1-0), (1-1), (0-1).

Is Hook Rd open on Saturday. Why don`t the teams play Saturday.
| |
|
Nov 02, 2009 4:08 PM | | ; |
I am going to let the coaches vote on whther or not to go with the plan here or play out the remaining regular season games (4 make-up games this Sunday) and begin playoffs 11/15, end 11/22. The teams I talked to about it yesterday didn`t want to extend the season that long, but I will let all the coaches vote on it.

^^^
Nov 02, 2009 4:25 PM | | ; |
I agree. This way, the teams that have played 7 games will not have to wait 2 weeks to play again. And the teams that need to make up their games can play on Saturday and playoffs start on Sunday as scheduled!!!
| |
|
Saturday
Nov 02, 2009 4:27 PM | | ; |
What do you think Tom? There is another alternative if you can book the field for 4 games on Saturday?
| |
|
Totally agree on Saturday
Nov 02, 2009 4:29 PM | | ; |
Tom, it doesn`t even have to be Hook Rd or Green Briar or Poplar Tree. Find a field in Fairfax County on Saturday. It makes total sense. Works out for every team involved. It might hinder the teams having to make up the games on Saturday (trying to get a team on a different day) but this seems the best compromise.

The 10-day forcast shows Clear skies through Sunday. So grass fields would even be good to play on.

Seems like
Nov 02, 2009 4:41 PM | | ; |
there are three alternatives to choose from: 1) Tom`s original plan up top 2) Play on makeup games on Saturday and playoffs start on Sunday as scheduled 3) Make up games this Sunday and playoffs start 11/15

1) Tom`s original plan up top
2) Play on makeup games on Saturday and playoffs start on Sunday as scheduled 3) Make up games this Sunday and playoffs start 11/15
There are only 2 options, as the second one you list here is a no-go.
Coaches are voting right now (3 responses so far).

I don`t know about anyone else but I don`t want to play on Thanksgiving Weekend. I`m sure most people have plans already!

I just don`t see how it`s fair for the teams that haven`t finished their REGULAR SEASON GAMES. We pay for 7.

Nov 02, 2009 6:03 PM | | ; |
I don`t know that you can make it 100% fair when the weather does not act accordingly. We`re dealing with permits and personal schedules, etc. I don`t think playing on a day other than Sunday is a feasible solution, and extending the season creates Holiday issues due to anticipated lack of attendance. It is what it is.
| |
|
^^^ I agree
Nov 02, 2009 6:04 PM | | ; |
We pay and are guaranteed 7 regular season games. The compromise would be to let these teams play out their season! Of course no one wants to play on thanksgiving weekend, but lets be fair about it!

Nov 02, 2009 6:08 PM | | ; |
Point taken! But these leagues charge 860 for 7 regular season guaranteed games. CH and SC have only played 5. Should they be refunded the 2 games they could`nt play. I understand it`s not Tom`s fault that it`s been raining, but the teams should not be penalized for it either.

Nov 02, 2009 6:10 PM | | ; |
Damn. This sucks! I`m glad we play on turf LMBO I agree wit you "reply to CH" these teams should not be penalized. They should get refunded the 2 games they didnt play.
| |
|
Unfortunatly
Nov 02, 2009 6:33 PM | | ; |
nothing Tom does is really fair so he has to make a decision that hurts the least amount of teams/people. While it isn`t fair that there is a possibility that a team might get screwed out of a game (and be refunded for it as Tom said) it really isn`t fair to ask EVERYONE to have to play on Thanksgiving weekend either. Not really fair to tell WTF or TNT they have to either skip the holidays or try to play without key players for the playoffs when they beat most of us all year.

Nothing the man does is going to get you people`s approval. He`s doing the best he can with what he`s given. He did say he`d refund teams who don`t get to play all of their games. PLease, please, please try to stop all the crying and cut the man a break or find another league to play in. It`s just that simple.
