The complete regular season schedule for all divisions is now posted.
Stats:
Individual stats will be collected at all games, all divisions. You can visit the weeknight site for the FCFFL (already underway) for a preview. These stats should be posted to the site under the teams -> player stats tab (soon to be visible) within 48 hours of game completion.
The first 2 weeks all teams will have their team stats and game box stats visible, along with their players appearing on the leader boards.
To continue beyond week 2 and to the end of the season, teams have to pay $7.50/game (teams can pay the season in advance). There will be a payment page linked from the stat page after week 2.
Numbers have already been required for officiating purposes, but due to stat collection, we will enforce the policy strictly. Players must wear numbered shirts or jerseys; at the minimum a t-shirt with a marker number drawn on it. Teams will want to ensure players wear the same numbers each week if you want the stats collected to be accurate and complete. In the event of teams having to switch to non-numbered shirts (allowed in the case of jersey conflict) - its a good idea to keep a white t-shirt with your number in marker on it.
Rule Changes:
The main rule change is the 60 seconds to kickoff rule. As soon as the PAT is declared good or no good, the kicking team has 60 seconds until the ready whistle (play clock) for kickoff is blown. In the event the other team opts to take the ball at the 20 its a non-issue - otherwise, no more lolly-gagging after the XP. In the event the ball goes into trees or bushes, officials (at their discretion) may award the kicking team extra time to recover the ball.
Rosters
All teams must have rosters entered/updated before week 3 games. Rosters lock Sunday 9/27 at 7:30 AM. Between now and then feel free to add/drop. NOTE: players may only play in one division: A, B, or C, on Sunday.
The County is strictly enforcing the out of county player policy this Fall ($20/player), so if there is no address entered for the player - that player is considered out of county.
If you do not enter a roster (or complete roster), there are 3 consequences:
1) if an opponent challenges the roster eligibility of a player on your team and he`s not rostered, the game is a forfeit, and it doesn`t matter if its the championship game.
2) you will be billed for 8 - (rostered county residents) out of county players.
3) This year the VFFA is using locked league rosters for the State Tournament. Your application to play in the State Tournament will include a locked roster you will download from the VFFA site. That`s your week 3 locked roster.
Postseason:
This is a repost from earlier, but I am going to leave it pinned up here for a while.
"A" playoffs: top 8 from A division, seeded 1-8, 1 v 8, 2 v 7 etc...standard bracket. #9 and #10 from A go to the B bracket.
"B" playoffs: top 6 from B division. 1-3 seeded 1-3, 4-6 seeded 6-8. The 4th and 5th seeds in the B bracket will be the #9 and #10 teams from "A". Also a straight bracket. Teams 7-12 in B do not make the postseason. This is why B plays 8 regular season games.
"C" playoffs: top 8 from "C", 1-8, straight bracket. Teams #9 and #10 will play an additional regular season game between themselves for their 8th game.

Kickoff
Sep 03, 2009 5:22 PM | | ; |
Is that minute a part of the running clock, or will the clock be stopped until the kickoff whistle?

Someone can correct me if I`m getting this wrong, but I think the fact that the clock was running is the reason this rule is in effect. The clock has always been running during setup for kickoffs and some teams were wasting a lot of game time gettting this done. This limits the amount of clock time wasted getting set up for the kickoffs.

Well

many teams were unaware that the clock ran during that time. A team could score and honestly use 5-7 minutes retrieving the ball, setting up and kicking the ball off; essentially putting a game away. 1 minute running off wouldn`t be a big deal.

Just as a repeat of what I mentioned on the weeknight board, the out of county fees in Fairfax went up this Fall to $30 a player, and military personnel with a valid ID don`t get charged.

Timeout
Sep 07, 2009 2:41 PM | | ; |
If you are concerned with the clock, you can always use a timeout after the other team scores a TD. Clock should not be running during the PAT, so this keeps the game clock from starting again until the ball is kicked off.

How are the A and B playoffs going to work? is there going to be any double header weekends?

Semifinals and championship games are played on the same day. The playoff schedule (minus team names) is up if you want to take a look.
