From Shay/Rob/Tom

The old rule of the ball is dead once it hits the ground from the center snap will be the rule that the IFFL and FCFFL league will use until further notice.

The FCFFL and IFFL recognize that the USFFA and VFFA use a different rule the "one hop rule" giving the ball one hop to be recovered by the QB but this is a USFFA and VFFA rule that the IFFL and FCFFL has decided we will not use. Just as our 2pt conversion rule is different from the USFFA and the VFFA.

Teams must remember that do go to the VFFA State tournament that some rules differ from the IFFL and FCFFL.

As of today any ball that hits the ground from a center snap will be dead at the spot.

Could you guys also clarify the ruling on when the kick holder has to raise his knee off the ground to catch a snap and then puts his knee back down, is that a dead ball?

2pt conversion is the same as always. For 1pt from the 2yd line kick for 1pt or you can run or pass it in for 1pt. For 2pt conversion must take it from the 10yd line and can only pass or run it in for 2pts, if you kick it from the 10yd line STILL 1pt.

As an FYI!

It was the Fairfax League Delegate`s recommendation and proposal that the VFFA adopt the USFFA`s "ball hits the ground and play" rule at the 2005 VFFA Annual Convention in Richmond! After much discussion and opposition mainly from the VFFA President - a vote was taken and the change passed by a two vote margin. Democracy at work for sure. However,we know that the Fairfax League will definitely want to play by a rule their own league delegate advocated for the State, even if the IFFL does not! -RCJ
