the 8am games were stopped midway through the first half. im not even going to discuss the fact that the fields were in better shape this week than last week. not only do people give up their saturday nights to play early sunday, apparently now we dont even get to play. i understand that weather might not allow us to play sometimes, but atleast give the players enough respect to inform them of what is going on before they waste their time.

The fields were in perfect shape. There was no reason to close the fields. The individual representing soccer (who sent the county person to close the fields instead of coming back himself) remarked that "the fields are okay for 10 year old kids but not for adults". The county person who came at 9:00 did not even get out of his truck.
This is simply a matter of soccer people abusing their access to field signs whenever they can (i.e. on weekends where we get some rain) in order to prevent adult flag football from using the fields in the morning. in the past they have waited until 5 minutes before we kickoff to close the signs on rainy weekends (make the fields open) but today they never came back to close the signs. I am 100% sure soccer is going forward this afternoon.
I will email all the coaches affected tomorrow - as the most effective way to change the way things are done is for each player to send a message (just like the one posted here and in the other thread) to the County to let them know that adult athletics are not second class to youth soccer. We ALL pay taxes.

Please guys no hate mail but a five minute phone call to FX county could help but before you do that let Tom find out the facts of who what when and why and we will post information and who you can call from the county and give your griefence to, and maybe then the county will allow us to determine if we can or can`t play but first let us get all the facts.

How much more would we have to pay as a league / team / player to ensure that we got equal priority and access to these fields. I don`t look at our league as "second priority" and I`m tired of being treated that way by the soccer people, the pee-wee football people and the county. What`s the ante? I want in!

This is the second incident in one week where the soccer guys get to do what they want.We have been around doing this longer , but yet the county feels it can treat us like this.How long have the soccer guys been here ? Legally ?? They can`t speak English , but they can move lifelong residents and taxpayers from their favorite past time.Last time I checked, our money built those fields !!!!

That last comment was both unsubstantiated and uncalled for. I do not think it belongs on this sight as hopefully we have a lot more class than that. It should be removed.

They are now calling the police on us.We can`t play a game without them trying to take the fields.What are we supposed to do ?

There was soccer being played on Sunday. Go to Restonsoccer.org and they display the fields that are closed and they do it by 7:30 in the morning. They were all open on Sunday not sure why the fields were canceled for you guys.
