Just to nip this in the bud before it gets out of hand, there is no way the league is going to organize and schedule an all star game. Period.
In past attempts it has been a logistical nightmare (voting, players bailing out, teams with no linemen).
We will schedule an A Champs (or highest seeded team to accept) vs C Champs ("" "") game for 6/28 as the 3rd game of the day - if that`s the day we do the B final four.
| |
|
May 21, 2009 2:45 PM | | ; |
And if the C team playing the A team wants to make themselves into an "all star" team (on their own initiative)from the Novice League that`s fine.

I think Tom is saying that it would be up to the C League Champion as to whether or not they want to open it up to other Novice players. Slow your roll on the ballots. It`s up to the C League Champions Coach

Just keep an eye out and the post it here. That would be the logical option. Remember you have 18 novice teams, but will the players from the winning team allow other players to play? Also how many players will Tom allow?

goes out to GH#32 and VAB #71 and all others. . . . KEEP DREAMIN ABOUT an "ALL-STAR TEAM" . . . becuase that is exactly what it is A DREAM. Your teams could not carry the jock strap for any all star team. I know for a fact that the players on the Lions (6-0), Havok (5-1) and Team Beer (5-1) would fight for each and every position on O, D, & ST. They would win the argument as their record proves that. All the teams below them could combine forces and would not beat those Top 3 Teams.

GH #32 & #28 could you explain your 2008 Fall Record of 0 wins and 8 losses and 5 blowouts? As well as your 2008 Spring Record of 0 wins and 6 losses and 1 tie and 5 blowouts? Yes, GH #32, I did check with Pain to see how well you handled their line. They shut you down and scored 34 points on you. You are awesome, keep up your outstanding performance. Have fun too.

you may have lost by 5 pts. to the LIONS which is a tight game, but a loss is a loss and you are now 1 - 4. You are also correct that this is a team game and you along with some others are trying to break apart the top teams and jam your rejects on them to assemble some fantasy team that wants to play in the A league. My advice to you and all others is let the TOP teams represent your league, whether it be the Lions, Havok or Beer. They deserve it. Remember this is a team sport. My second bit of advice to you is to focus on your team alone and make it stronger so you can be the TOP DOG this fall or next spring. Good luck and I will see you next weekend. :)

@Hey, we did get blown out a couple games, you put a new team together with a changing line up every week and it can happen against those Open league teams. Oh well, most of our issues came from turnovers last season, we lost a few we should have won, but regardless we stuck with it. Now look at us, gaining a little respect in the Novice league...Btw, hey, who do you play for again?
Pain game, we lost, we played hard, end of story.
But 3 sacks and 6 flags from line ain`t being shut down bub! :)

What`s up peeps? GH-32 (roid) and VAB71 it`s 9-D. Ya`ll don`t sweat this petty bi tch and keep in mind there are posers out there just trying to stir you up. I can vouch for the fact that it doesn`t take anything to be in A league or C or Novice...you join a team because you know someone and want to play. The only thing separating leagues at all are years of experience and I have faith that in a year to three both Grand Hustle and -THE- Va.Bulldogs will be competing at the highest level and WHY? Because we are determined and want to excel so push these haters aside and keep on movin.

Look here`s the deal. Every season players from A tell C teams "... to wait till they play in A and they will see the real deal." That`s bs and everyone knows it. It takes three things to be competative in A.
First, you only need a hand full of plays. Keep it simple. Your team needs to run them well and be able to make a little adjustment from time to time based on the team you are playing. Second, you need a solid secondary. Your secondary has to trust each other and the d line has to put just enough pressure on the QB so he doesn`t have all day to throw. And like on O, be flexable. Be able to adjust to the other team`s O. Pull flags. Finally, chemistry. You won`t be able to accomplish one and two if you don`t have team chemistry.
Notice I said nothing about having ex-NFLers or guys with w/ 4.2 speed. So to all the C teams, I suggest that you play as many games as possible, stick together and the wins will pile up.

Let me clarify one thing I said b/c I don`t want to give the wrong impression. There is a big difference b/t Open as a whole and Novice. No one is going to dispute that. But this difference is due to the 3 things I stated above. The competitive Open teams figure this out and the others go away or stay in C. What`s bs is all the chatter about C sucking and Open being this "holy grail" league.
Oh and every season Open teams pick on Novice teams. It is what it is. Hell it`s probably the same two or three people posting over and over again.

re: Player

Out of all the Open post to Novice players I have read, yours has to be the realest and most positive one thus far. Its cool if Open players gave advice about how to be successful at the next level or whatever, but instead we catch hell. The funny part is that we catch hell just for playing in our own Novice league and discussing Novice teams and Novice players in a Novice messageboard.
Hearing some advice about playing some other team or playing in Open is all good, but telling us everyone in Novice all suck is something different, when you don`t even watch some of these teams play. On the other hand, I understand the "right of passage"

Who
May 22, 2009 7:07 PM | | ; |
said in this very post that the Novice or C league sucks?? . . . chirp . . . chirp . . . . NO ONE DID! So QUIT making up LIES. Actually, it was the complete opposite! A few of the "novice/C" players have stated that "A" is no different from "C". They actually called out the A gamers and want to challenge them head to head this Spring!
Also, I believe there were 3 Novice/C Teams held in the highest regards in this very post(BEER, HAVOK, & LIONS). However, a few of you want to dismantle their success and force them to take your "stars on your team" and insert them on their team! How fair is that to them?? Lets face it, just because they may be the best player on your team does not make them a top player in the league. Any ALL-STAR Team from Novice/C should be the champs or at most the TOP 2 teams.
Hell, I even go one step further to shut most of the whiners up, how `bout the defense that allows the fewest points in the league will be the Novice All-Star Defense and the offense that scores the most points will be the Novice All-Star Offense. So, with 6 games played YTD and a total of 178 pts scored Havok will represent the Novice All-Star Offensive Team and with only 44 pts given up the Wahoos will represent the Novice All-Star Defense. Congrats!!!:)

Could the top C teams beat the bottom Open? Probably. So to respond to your statement "Who", their is a big difference between Open and Novice. It all goes back to the three reasons I stated above.
Hopefuly this season one of the top Open teams will be willing to play the Novice champs. Last time this was tried all the top Open teams declined and we were represented by bumb a** Deisel.

Player also stated "What`s bs is all the chatter about C sucking"
re: if any C stated "I don`t understand what you are trying to prove about Open teams." Nothing above his post indicate A Teams or anyone saying A/Open was better.
