Scheduler

Scheduling this year has been a bit… how you say “concerning”. Moving forward for future seasons will scheduling be the same? I mean players can’t see what the schedule is beyond 2 weeks. I got my coach asking me to play either different time during the day (two days prior to a game) or on different days of the week. I would imagine this all stems from field availability but in past years I don’t recall so many changes…….maybe at the end of the season because of make up games and rainouts but out the gate there are multiple changes.

BTW - like the power ranking posted on the home!

this year`s scheduleing is the exception to the rule. Why? there are several reasons:

1) After tossing aside Hunter Woods Elem (which the teams who played there week 1 would agree with) we do not have enough field space on Sunday to play all the games for that week. Therefore we need to schedule 2 SAT games each week. Not all coaches responded when I requested that they provide a SAT their team could play on. I requested again - a few coaches responded; there are still some who have not. I need those SAT games pegged before I can issue the SUN sched.

2) Hook Rd. division has only 7 teams. One team backed out really late in the game, a team took the slot, then backed out. I had a few days to decide whther to try and fill that slot or run w/7 teams. I decided to run w/7 teams in order to remove all doubt. This causes some ripples in the schedule which affect the other divisions a little.

3) Novice home fields are BC#1 and Herndon. those 2 fields are the most likely to be cancelled. In that case I would have to ensure the following weeks Novice games are on turf to avoid back to back rainouts (not unheard of in the Spring). If we had all turf fields (like FCFFL) this would not be an issue.

So, if you are a coach who has not responded yet to my request for an available SAT game - you might be holding up the sched. Some teams have volunteered to play more than one SAT game - which makes life easier for scheduling...but I still need input from about 12 teams who have not yet responded.

Nope not a coach just a player who is having scheduling conflicts with Saturday games. Thank you for the response.
