I have mellowed to the point where I basically dont care anymore, but have to say in my prime I was a bit of a wack job. About 5 years ago I dared the ref to call an unsportsmanlike penalty on me and another one of MY players because we were yelling F bombs at each other. The other team just sat there laughing.
ALWAYS treated the other team with respect, however!!!
Simple rule: the more people talk smack to opponents, typically the more they suck...true bad asses never have to say a damn thing...

There was a crew-cut police officer dude that played in the hook league who was a COMPLETE NUT JOB. Needed psychiatric help, seriously. The Outcasts had some talkers, but that was a few years ago/now they are one of the most "professional" teams. Most teams are pretty polite, with the requisite smack talkers here and there.

First of all, lets get it right! I have not posted anything on this thread. So for anyone to tell me to shut the F* up is a bit out of line.
On the field I will continue to talk until your can’t take it anymore. By doing so I am doing my job and your not. 90% of any sport is mental. So if you are getting caught up in the “shit” that comes out of my mouth… that means your not doing your job. Like it or not, talking is a part of the game. I’m proud to be the Lions #1 cheerleader. I am happy that so many people hate on me. I am secure in my own skin and don’t give a fuck what you or anyone else in the league thinks of me. I am who I am and if who I am rubs you the wrong way, deal with it because I’m not going to change. I paid to play in the league so I have every right to do what ever I want, (with in the rules of the game). Do your really think that I am going to allow some nameless cowards talk me down? Force me to loose my identity? Give me a break. Why don’t you make my day by going one week without bashing me or the Lions. And if you can’t do that, be a fucking man and put your team and/or name beside your comments. Otherwise take my name and the Lions name the fuck out your mouth. See you on the field. I’ll be the midget in 52 doing the grunt work to help my team win.

To summarize a couple of weeks worth of posts, we are a mediocre “lucky” B league team, Lions are hated and cheap and NOVAs and Lazy get all the breaks because Ron, Shay and Tom are the commishs.
Ironically, we were reading the exact same “opinions” last year on these boards. I think we all get the point, whether we agree or not, so lets move on.

I think most of the hate mail posted about players and teams are from guys on the same team. They motivate each other by calling each other out, its all about recognition. i like playing against dave and the lions, they play hard and are cool off the field. dave just talks over his ability is all, and that is what rubs people the wrong way. i tho have no problem with it, he is not fast, particularly strong, obviously short, but he plays with everything he has, including his mouth. that being said, i think it is amusing and as i said, i like playing against them and the whole league for that matter. but the real reason why i am posting is to tell you guys to clean up the language, not entirely, but in terms of saying someone likes c$^k, or dropping f-bombs, come on man. you get a 15 yard penalty in the league for foul language, and if you keep it up on these boards, you are going to get a timeout mister.

We have played the Lions a few times and have seen a lot of them. I have seen David lay people out in the backfield who have 50 pounds on him. I have also seen players much bigger who could not block those same rushers. I will take the guy(and his mouth) who can actually block someone any day over someone who looks good on paper but is just an average blocker or who can`t put a hit on anyone. Call him names or whatever but that guy can flat out play.

I too was afraid of the Lions because number 52 was rushing the QB and 2 guys on the other team double teamed him. He got angry and pulled out a switch blade and stabbed him. Needless to say, he sacked the QB and said something that was probably pretty mean.

I also heard Number 52 had sex with the ref on the side of the field, after the game. 52 kept saying "who`s your dwarf, who`s your dwarf!" After that insanity, they sat next to the field, drinking lemonade and cheered on the other teams while they played.
