ANNOUNCEMENT:

;
The permits are in, and unfortuneately field space is tight for the Sunday League. We have room for 19 games each Sunday in VA (38 teams).

However, I do want to press the MD Novice division for 4 teams which I will integrate into the VA divisions. The MD Novice division will play 3 games in MD (Riverview park - across the bridge and 7 minutes from Alexandria) and 4 games in VA.

Open will be 2 divisions of 7 (where one regular season game is cross divisional) and one division of 8.

Open will play 11 games a week in VA: Hook, ECL#2, Herndon. Novice will play 8 games a week in VA: BC#1 and LFF#1 and 1 game a week in MD (the one Novice game per week in MD will always be between 2 of the 4 MD-based Novice teams). 2 Novice teams (out of 20) will have a bye each week. We`re going to rotate fields just a little here and there so that everyone plays on both turf and grass.

We`ll start some Novice earlier (3 games on 3/29 + some games SAT night at Marshall HS) then Open (4/5) due to the bye factor.

We also might schedule some Novice games for SAT night on turf (if the weeknight coed does not fill to 12 teams). We have (2) SAT night fields: Marshall HS & Braddock Park. We`ll use Braddock Park for coed for sure, and Marshall if we get more than 7 teams in coed - if not, we`ll use Marshall for IFFL make-up games and some plug-in games. Any SAT night games will only be scheduled after both coaches consent to playing.

Per the registration message, there are NO GAMES on Easter (4/12) and Memorial Day (5/24).

Open plays 7 regular season games with everyone making the playoffs (top 13 to A, bottom 9 to B), Novice plays 8 regular season games with only the top 4 from each division advancing to the post-season.

--------------------------------------------
We have no more room in Open.

We have room for (4) additional NOVICE teams who will be based in Maryland, but pay 5 out of their 8 games in VA. The 3 games you play in MD will be against the other 3 MD-based Novice teams.

If your team is interested in playing in this hybrid Novice division, please email me: tom@iffl.us to discuss.

Tom,

Just to clerify the Open field situation. Opens games will be at Hook, Herdon (Middle?), and ECL #2 (turf?). And if needed possible Saturday night games at Marshall HS?

Thanks in advance.

No SAT games for Open unless requested.

Open will be based at Hook, ECL#2(turf) and Herndon.

However, the teams will rotate fields to balance the number of games played on turf, i.e. the Herndon Open division (East) will actually play 4 of their 7 games games on turf at Lake FFX & ECL, and the ECL#2 based teams (West) will play 2 games at Herndon.

The schedule will be out next week (guessing by WED). The first 2 weeks are the tricky part, and I am trying to get a minor extention so we don`t have to start games at 7:30 at one of the fields.

If you play in Novice, and your team has a certain preference for a bye week - let me know.

;
No schedule today - I have (2) teams who registered for the MD Open division that I have to integrate into the Open schedule (Open MD/VA hybrid vs Novice).

I need a third team to make it all work - this means those teams would play 3 games in VA and 4 in MD.

I may add the 2 MD Novice teams to the VA Novice divisions, but if I get more field space this week I will increase the VA Open to 24 teams. One Open team did drop, but unless I get field space I would not move a team into that slot - just have 3 divisions of 7. If I get more field space I would move the 2 newest MD-Open teams into VA along with opening 1 additional slot.

No, I`m replying to you. I play for Novacaine, and was simply interested in what team you play for, since you have the nerve to get on here and talk **** for no reason. But obviously, you can`t build up enough courage to do that.

um

please go over to the weeknight board. You are playing in the weak night league right?

Looks like someone else spelled it out for you, now you are in the know.

Ohhh

Feb 24, 2009
2:18 PM
;
WEAK NIGHT!?!? I GET IT NOW! THAT`S HILARIOUS! You`re right, anyone who doesn`t wake up at 7 am on a Sunday morning must not be a true athlete, therefore making it a weak league full of weak people. So true, word man thanks for clearing it up for everyone? Oh wait I got one, don`t you play in the WEAKEND League? (Get it, I spelt it with weak instead of weak, because its a weak league!! Awesome!!)

observer

Feb 24, 2009
2:24 PM
;
It`s a proven fact that the weeknight league does not have the same level of competition as the weekend league. Don`t get butt-hurt, but many teams have done well in weeknight leagues only to fall flat on Sundays.

um

Feb 24, 2009
2:26 PM
;
wow, someone is angry and can`t take a joke.

Ohhh

Feb 24, 2009
2:27 PM
;
You are an idiot.

"(Get it, I spelt it with weak instead of weak, because its a weak league!! Awesome!!)"

First of all "spelt" is not what you think it is, you meant "spelled." And second, I think you meant week in your second use in this play on words saga.

Hey observer

Feb 24, 2009

Stay out of it. This is between "Ohh" and "um". They have been rivals ever since "ohh" indicated a understanding of something and "um" meant uncertainty.
