We are almost to the halfway point of the season and the picture is clearing up a little more. Reston North I said earlier that this division would come down to the Outcast/Lions game and that is not changed. After the Lions wreck a few undefeated season dreams this week those two will be the only undefeated teams in this division. The Lions look strong and Outcasts does not look like they will have a letdown season. Reston Central. I originally picked Going Deep to take this division but after further review they do not have enough in the tank to beat Lazy Sundae and that might not be the only loss of the season for them. Look for Lazy Sundae to waltz through the rest of the season undefeated. Going Deep should still make the playoffs and so should the Wolverines. If Going Deep can turn up the intensity we will take a second look. Reston West. As I expected the Mac-Daddies are on top of this division,the Chickens are in the thick of things and no one else has done much to distinguish themselves. Except for the Mac-Daddies who should win the first game these teams will all get stomped in the first round of the playoffs. Reston South. As I predicted, the Rhinos will take this division but the Banditos are now very much in the hunt here and just might slide into second. The Rhinos/Banditos game is shaping up to be a major showdown as these Banditos look like the real deal. The Larrys might be the team here looking from the outside in once the playoffs start. Montgomery Division. I was sure the Novas would win this division in a cakewalk but it looks like these cupcakes bite back. At this point they will finish second to the Playmakers and look for the Novas to have to get by a team like the Rhinos, Lazy Sundae or Lions to make the final-4. That will end a impressive run of final-4 appearances. Changing up my final-4 predictions a little bit: Final Four: Lions,Lazy Sundae,Banditos,Rhinos Championship: Lions,Rhinos Champion: Lions Game Of The Week: Lazy Sundae/Going Deep Going Deep will need to play like they did last year to have a chance in this game and maybe the competition will bring that out. Lazy Sundae will probably not take this game lightly so don`t look for a letdown there. Look for Going Deep to play there best game of the season but come up short 21-14. Games Of Interest: Lions/Titans,Lions/United On paper these games look like battles for the division lead but don`t look for barnburners on both sides of the ball. The Lions are too strong and too talented to drop a game to a division II team. Lions should win both by at least two scores. If one game is closer it will be the Titans game. Rhinos/Scrubs If these teams played five times the Scrubs would win one of those games but don`t expect the Rhinos to be looking ahead after seeing the Scrubs down the Larrys last week. Look for the Rhinos to approach this game like it was for the division title. Rhinos will win comfortably 24-7.
