That`s pretty tight Andy. Your #44 is beast on defense. How many sacks he have all season? You, #5, and #10 are like the 3 hit combo on offence. Can`t wait to see how you guys do in the B division. Great work Andy.

C bashing
Jun 27, 2006 3:33 PM | | ; |
Does it make you feel like a man to bash on the C league. If it does then there must be some insecurity. I`m sure some of these guys will do well at the next level.

most teams came from the bottom some a long time ago some as a few years, the c is always going to catch slack...just live with it...move up and make a name for yourselves and it will be done soon, just make sure to keep it friendly and competitive if not you easily make the most hated team list...

Most of the "bashing" should be of the A league:
1)they steal each others players (most of them guilty)
2)they bend the rules more often(happened in the playoffs at least three times)
3)they are much more likely to show terrible sportsmanship (happens at all levels, but the majority of B and C teams are mellower/more interested in having fun).
4)they take themselves way too seriously (just read any post)
I have spent lots of time in A, B and C and the most fun was B: good teams, good athletes, good competition but much friendlier. however, thats not for everyone. super competitive people need the A league, and thats fine...just leave everyone else alone! As far as C goes, everyone has to start somewhere/just practice, practice, practice.

Now Im real bored

Andy... I appreciate the humor...actually your team does look like it has talent... but I also appreciate Wilbon`s comments... where the hell is the pass rush in those games?? and I think I recognize that as your playoff/finals games... are telling me the team that made it to the finals in C had no pass rush? No discredit to your O-line... but it does make one wonder.
But hey.. you did your thing in C.. all you can do is beat the teams you`re scheduled to play and you did that. Congrats, and good luck with the move up. You certainly got the dedication with the website, video, etc..

Hey Andy, I tried to watch your video but there`s something wrong where the video is running kind of slow in comparison to the audio. Do you have any suggestions on what might be wrong?

You are right. About 50% of the C league teams do not rush that hard. I can only name a few that do a good job at rushing. Pain, Legacy, Legends, Clubhouse, and Green Machine were the only team that I can remember that gave pressure. But I do give a lot of credit to my line. Big Phil #56...it’s hard to get around him. Corey #5 does it all, block, catch, and scores.
But again, when I feel pressure on the line I would call run plays until it softens up. That’s when I take advantage and start passing more. Having a good run game really opens up the passing game.

Things to think about when teams rush "soft", ie: they cover your guards to take away short stuff to the guards:
1)they are a great source for picks for your wrs (b/c the db not only has to get through your guy, but also the DE covering your guy)
2)if you can shove the nose tackle one way or the other, qb has clear sailing the other way.
X`s and O`s...the best part of the game.

Hey Andy, are you number 9 in the Dulles Sportplex indoor league? If are you I just wanted to give mad props to your team. I saw you guys play last Friday and your defense is ferocious. Do you plan on bringing this team to the out door league?

That was fun to watch. I am not an "A" snob, actually quite the opposite: I liked watching your open, "razzle" offense. Of the older teams, I can only think of the Lions having that sort of offense (there used to be others, but they have retired).
The only thing I couldnt get a feel for is how, when in the spread offense, you respond to straight up man against equally matched athletes, with an aggressive rush (thats what you will see all the time). You can do it, its just not as easy as a little flip pass then double throw deep...
fun to watch. Love X`s and O`s.

I played for Lions last fall and brought the Spread to Andy. That’s why it may seem familiar to you. We give some credit to the Lions for our success. How ever though our spread formation may look a lot like the Lions the plays are not. Andy has done a great job of running our O to fit the players we have. He has also done a good job of mixing it up using both Spread and the traditional set with 3 OL. The spread is hard to defend if used properly it doesn`t matter what kind of rush you bring. The success of the Spread is on the QB`s decision making skills. Most of the Teams in the C at least were afraid to rush us because as soon as they did Andy would dump it off to one of the backs or just take off. After one or two big plays the other teams tend to stay back.

Indoor league - Yeah I`m #9 on Rage. Thanks for the props. Rage is not my team so I don`t have any say on whether or not its going to be an outdoor team. Do you play? If so what team do you play for?
A leaguer - Like Dean said...our spread O was inspired by the Lions. We run our spread O when Big Phil #65 is out of town. He is our only big player so our style of offense really depends on his attendance. It has worked out pretty well for the most part. Our double pass plays were inspired by United. I give a lot of credit to United and Rhinos for helping us out before the season started. They gave us a lot of pointers to the league and we learned a lot from just scrimmaging them. Again thanks for everything guys...hope to play you guys someday in the upper levels.

Scrubs qb
Jun 29, 2006 10:50 AM | | ; |
There used to be a team called the "backstabbers", i think, and thats all they ran. its funny, you think "oh, this is easy to stop" but with a mobile qb (um, thats NOT me)its dangerous to be too aggressive on defense. i had a few plays drawn up in case we ever got a more mobil "change of pace" guy, which we finally have. more and more teams are going towards spreading things out...
