The Bark Bowl is a one day, 8 AM - 6PM hybrid double elimination tournament which is a benefit event for the Humane Society of Fairfax County.

Included with each team`s entry fee is:
*12 Bark Bowl t-shirts per team
*a $50 donation to the HSFC per team
*officiating and awards for the entire tournament

Tournament Champ and Runner-up receive individual awards and a team awards, semifinalists receive team awards.

Your team must win 5 or 6 games that day to win the tournament. The tournament Champ will either be 5-0 or 5-1 on the day. Its double elimination through to the quarterfinals. Beyond that, its single elimination.

There are 12 slots allocated for local teams, and 4 allocated for teams from other parts of the state:

(1) Richmond
(1) Spotsylvania or VA Beach.

Last year`s teams have priority registration beginning today and until Thursday. I will be emailing invoices today to last year`s teams.

On Thursday, the out of area and non-returning local slots are merged into a poll of available slots.

On Thursday, last years Bark Bowl local team out of area slot fillers (first), then last years Stars and Stripes participants will get a one day priority registration (in order of finish for that tournament).

On Monday, June 30th, all remaining slots (if any) will open to the general public.

Here are the 12 local teams from last year who will be emailed invoices today:

Here are the 2 slot fillers (moved up to 2007 Bark Bowl from the 2006 Stars and Stripes) who will be eligible for any of the above 16 untaken slots beginning Thursday, 6/26:

1 Larrys 3 2 0 0.600
2 Mutiny 2 2 0 0.500


Here are the teams (in order) who will be eligible to register for any open slots beginning Thursday, 6/26 - after Larrys and Mutiny have optioned:

1 Bad Boys
2 Outlaws
3 Scrubs
4 Playmakers
5 Southside Grays



I expect that all slots may be filled on Thursday 6/26, but its not out of the question that there may be one or two open.

We are doing this the exact, same, transparent way we did this last year. (click link for that post)

That will be July 13th - waiting on the fields, plus we usually get the Bark Bowl registration finished up first.

We may also run a "C" tournament this summer.

MON update posted above. I`d like any team interested in taking the unused out of area slot to email me, tom (at) iffl (dot) us, between now and 6:00 PM. I`ll figure out a fair way to "draw straws" for the open slot tomorrow, but you have to be prepared to paypal the fee immediately if you win.

Nevermind - check from Playmakers (one of the early-reg eligible teams) for the Bark Bowl (that I was not expecting) was in the mail when I got home.

I am still going to do a draw for the waiting list order though, so if your team is interested in the event a team backs out please email me.
