is TA really the team to beat in the final four?
they almost lost to the winless open team out of the MD division before a pick saved the game at the end. and GH had to play the other open team Penetrators earlier that day. TA only put up 10 points and didn`t look like they were ready to play. Was it the heat that got to TA or is GH defense that good?
I look for the QH upset this sunday! its up in the air at this point so i dont think TA has it locked up!

TA should have no problem with QH. CN killed QH, and TA was able to put up 13 first half points on Chuck, and a 40 yard bomb TD in garbage time.

The way the playoffs were set up, TA will probably win the whole thing. The only unknown threats were the open teams, and two had to play each other which knocked one out and they had to play TA right after. DM only scored 22 on a fresh GH and GH was the worst team in the division. TA struggled against their tough D and it was a defensive struggle on both sides. TA receivers dropped some passes but shouldn`t have a problem with the rest of the playoffs. Their QB is fast and has the quick release.

TA is undefeated, ranked number one in the league. They should be expected to win the C league championship. Everyone keeps talking about schedule, missed opportunities, blah blah blah...at the end of the day they are still undefeated. I don`t think it will be an easy road to the title though, the next two teams they play will put up a tough game for sure.

Analysis
Jun 10, 2008 4:38 PM | | ; |
QH offense - Underneath threat with some speed. Don`t consider too much of a deep threat. Undersized except for 1 or 2.
TA Offense - O-line blocks well. Couple receivers. QH def has the speed advantage.
QH defense - They are really quick. Good coverage from secondary. Undersized line but quick.
TA defense - probably the most well rounded in the division, CN still holds best d-line title though.

Since I did not play all the other teams I can only go by what I saw and who we played. 1. I saw the PS game and they looked solid.. we all watched a few plays when they played the midgets.. #27 was a beast on PS.. would like to play them during the summer.
2. TA... very solid team.. the QB was good, there D was solid.. but its tuff going both ways in this heat.
I don`t know anything about the other teams so i cant say anything.. But I think its between TA and PS to be the champs..

Fullout Breakdown
Jun 11, 2008 5:05 PM | | ; |
TA vs. QH - These are the two teams that have played the best TEAM ball all year. TA`s QB is good enough to get the ball where it needs to be with just a little bit of time. He`ll get plenty of time because TA has a good O-line and the defensive pressure from QH is just okay (#89 is the only standout). QH has good team speed though and should be able to keep TA from throwing up too many points and turning it ugly quick. The difference may be one or two bombs and TA`s receivers being able to bring them in. On the other side of the ball QH plays a deception game. They like to run options and dump off passes to let their playmakers make plays in the open field. Expect a short dump off to #21 near the line of scrimmage often. They will throw deep rarely just to keep the defense honest. TA plays great team defense and can get to the QB quickly. However, QH`s playing style should negate the D pressure (options, quick dump offs). I think both teams put up some numbers but TA just has the better all around talent to pull it out. QH has a chance but needs to watch getting too far behind early because they don`t have the vertical threat to come back quickly.
TA – 20 QH – 13
CN vs. PS – These two teams might be the most talent-rich teams in the C division this year. However, both have shown throughout the year that they can play less than up to their abilities. On offense, CN has great team speed and a couple of freaks at wide receiver (DFA #21, #2). The CN QB doesn’t seem to have a great arm or be a threat running the ball so if PS can shut down the short to medium passes, they may frustrate CN all day. However, I have personally yet to see a team shut down either DFA OR #2, let alone both. PS will need a lot of help from some of their talent to win. They have talented safeties (#81, #5) and D-line (#99 is a beast) who will need to keep CN from getting any rhythm going offensively. On the other side of the ball, CN has the all around best defense in C this year (sorry TA). They are fast and aggressive and are giving up less than 10 points per game. However, don’t count PS out too quickly. They showed during the season that they may have the best O-line in the C division, and when that breaks down they can adjust. Expect to see PS try some different looks if Fireman, #55, or DFA start getting too much pressure on the QB. The loss of the PS QB takes away some of the vertical threat, but PS seems to be playing a better deception game to make up for it. In addition, PS #5 is the best pass catcher I’ve seen overall in C and CN has to limit his looks near the end zone to keep PS off the boards. Overall, this game will be a defensive struggle that comes down to the last play like it did during the regular season. Although paper says CN wins this game, I’m going with my gut that says PS is just clicking at the right time.
CN – 7 PS – 13
TA vs. PS – PS will get pressure on the QB but TA’s QB has proven all year that he can complete passes under pressure. Unless PS gets outstanding efforts from their D stars, TA will be able to put up points. After the fight with CN, PS will be more tired than TA coming into the game and I see TA putting up points when they need to. When PS is on offense, they will have a hard time using the deception game since QH runs it better and TA will have just beaten them. Since they are also lacking the vertical threat due to the QB switch, I can’t see them putting up too many points. However, they will score, unlike the first meeting of these two teams (TA - 13, PS – 0), when PS #5 gets his. Ultimately, TA will finish the season unbeaten with a convincing win over PS.
TA – 20 PS - 6

Nice analysis. But how sure are you that the new PS QB can`t throw? I`ve been reading all these people say he can`t throw but he`s played one game, and that was against the Midgets. PS used 3 different QB`s all day sunday (2 against Ligers and 3 against the Midgets). And #5 can definately catch everything his way, but when has he played safety? I`ve seen him play D line/LB but never safety. Maybe I missed that game? And #99 on their Dline is decent but he`s been to like 2 games. #27 is the guy to look out for as the Midgets had a hard time controlling him.
But in the end I agree; I see QH losing to TA and TA`s QB taking over in the Championship, regardless of who they play.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan 4x4 analysis
Jun 11, 2008 9:56 PM | | ; |
Game 1: I believe PS has the higher level talent, but only for a couple players, while CN across the board has better talent, more depth at more positions, and have shown throughout the season to play better as a team. I say its 21 or 17 to 7 CN, before PS converts a late TD, to cut it to a 1 score game, but don`t convert the onside kick, and CN runs the clock out. I`ll say 20-14.
Game 2: Even though I agree with the outcome of Fullout breakdown, he must of played a different QH team then we did. TA starts off with a score on the opening drive, answered right back by a QH score. TA gets a field goal before the half and 10-7 at half. QH quarterback has a gun and can defintely stretch the field, connects with the center and RB, and march down the field to make it 14-10, after both teams trade punts, TA gets the ball with 5 min left, and connects with a deep pass, then punch it in a couple plays later. QH has a shot at the end, driving down the field, but TA gets a late pick and win 17-14.
GAME 3: Really hard fought game, but I think CN ends up winning for a couple reasons. This is CN`s second strait week of playing 2 games, so they know how the process works, and they are a little more physically prepared to take the heat, and know the process and prepartion to get ready--- it might be a little shock for TA, only playing one 11am game last week (plus CN is in better shape, no homo). Also, I think QH will give TA more of a battle then PS will with CN... sloppy game int he first half, better in the second. CN wins the ship 19-13

shot in the dark
Jun 11, 2008 11:11 PM | | ; |
i dunno, i think it will be PS and TA. i just think PS has too much talent and is playing good lately. but PS has to be careful...CN really stretched the field last week though and looked alot more dangerous than they have in the past. PS has to respect the deep ball or they will get beat. PS takes it 20-14 late.
i like QH, but i don`t think they have enough fire power to hang with TA. TA is undefeated for a reason. they find ways to win. solid D with a high powered O. TA takes this one 27-14.
i like PS pulling the upset in the finals. PS is coming together at the right time and will roll to a 14-10 victory.

As for QH vs. TA: QH speed should/will be the deciding factor!

Whats up with teams using these unofficial game balls. I figured we would have to use official balls, not the Nike Deep Threat, or the practice rubber balls.
Also, teams using wet, waterfilled, POS balls to make the team kick to them? Whatever is legal is legal, but pretty cheap.
