MAN, I feel like KOBE only a little less richer; with all this Hatin` going on! So I won`t score FOR A FACT!! Last time I checked it`s a TEAM sport you gonna stop ME, but are you gonna stop my team from winning?!? You dudes are HILARIOUS, hate on KOBE; and the Lakers gonna get that championship, and hate on me, and we gonna do the same thing!! We`ll see what happens in the morning! Next time, atleast post what team you play for or what team you cheer for cause I`m sure you don`t play! Good luck to all!!

Say what you want, but that fact is that KOBE is the best player on the planet, and has been for the past 5-6 years. Put your ignorance aside and learn to appreciate greatness when you see it. LAKERS gave the CELTICS a two game head start, LAKERS IN SIX. By the way hes all hes got, GASOL...ALLSTAR, FISHER...3 RINGS, ODOM....POOR MANS GARNETT...AND BYNUM...RISING ALLSTAR. Get it right.

So now I`m being compared to KOBE after last month being compared to being overhyped like LEBRON, I`ll take them both as compliments since they are the two best players in the league! Yeah, don`t know who made the prediction of me not scoring but had 2 in the first game and 1 in the second! But more importantly we got TWO wins against two good teams! Good luck to everyone left! About them Lakers we`re struggling! But the series really doesn`t start until a road team wins, so we gotta protect our house! Let`s go KOBE! Keep hating!

First Fireman, alls good, but I got the KOBE reference from Larry Bird (celtics) post not you bud. It`s all good, so many people hating, most of you probably don`t even know me; but I believe all the teams I play have respect for me and my abilities, but as long as my squad has faith in me then everythings fine. Once again, wish all of the teams left good luck and thanks to everyone for posting and keeping me entertained.

Thats great and all but Kobe aint no MJ, and will never be. Kobe is the best player in the league right now, but not the best ever.
Give MJ the most dominating big man of all time (Shaq in his prime) and see how many rings he gets. You can play the Pippen argument if you want, but anyone with some sense would draft Shaq over Pippen any day of the week.

Jun 09, 2008 11:23 AM | | ; |
NO argument there! MJ is the GREATEST EVER!! But when you compare the two of them, you have to compare the time and the style of play and that what makes it so difficult to do so. Back then you didn`t need a big dominant center, but now you almost have to have an inside presence. The whole overall game has changed so much, I believe todays players are much more athletic OVERALL than the players in MJ`s era. But I still agree MJ is the greatest ever. But like my LAKESHOW and KOBE. Gotta change my prediction to Lakers in 7 now!

Jun 09, 2008 11:46 AM | | ; |
Absolutly agree. Cant compare thr talent MJ had to the talent Kobe has around them, two differant eras. So let me get this right...Kobe only has three rings because of Shaq? Shaq won those three? Dont think so, as I can recall MJ didnt do it without Pippen and Shaq couldnt do it without Kobe. It takes atleast two dominant players and a good supporting cast to win a CXhampionship in the NBA then, and now. Bottom line is MJ was the best player on the court when he played and Kobe is the same now. Look at their head to head matchups and let me know what you think then. Kobe hasnt even hit 30 yet man, MJ the best ever? YES, but you dont stay at the top forever either.

Shaq did do it without Kobe. He won in Miami.
| |
|
true
Jun 09, 2008 12:07 PM | | ; |
and he wasn`t even in his prime. Shaq averaged like 30 and 20 with the lakers. MJ never had a 30 and 20 guy.
I agree with DFA, kobe couldn`t do it without Shaq but MJ obviously did. 6 times. plus retirement.

Jun 09, 2008 3:54 PM | | ; |
True, but Shaq won in Miami and wasn`t the best player on his team, still showing that you need two dominant players to win. You can`t compare Kobe and MJ, I`ve been a Kobe fan from the start, since the airball at UTAH (BAD MEMORIES); but also think Kobe got 3 MJ got 6, but like Fireman said, Kobe isn`t even 30 yet. True, Kobe HASN`T done it without Shaq but he`s still got a lot of hooping left in him and before it`s over I think he`ll win a `Ship or two with these Lakers.

Jun 11, 2008 10:27 AM | | ; |
You have that backwards... new league rules dont allow defenders to hand check... if MJ played today at his prime he would average 45 a game. Kobe`s stats would not be as good if he played 15 years ago... thats a fact dont even bother arguing, you obviously dont know what you are talking about.
| |
|
IF Kobe
Jun 11, 2008 10:48 AM | | ; |
You all gotta realize, and this comparision is a bit of a strectch. But Babe ruth "greatest" baseball player wouldn`t hit .200 today. Babe ruth was a stand out against mediocre players and especially the pitchers. I don`t think anyone will be greater than him but not because they are not far more talented. Its because more and more of the field of players is closer to the highest skill level potential.
| |
|
ur still retarded
Jun 11, 2008 10:56 AM | | ; |
Babe Ruth also didnt have the advantages of todays training equipment and techniques, and im not even talking about steriods. Team trainers, and supplements go a long way. Not to mention the bats Ruth used were the equivilant of swinging a tree branch, with no bat speed, look at pics of their bats the handle were huge! Babe is the greatest ever and would easily bat .300 ever year now-a-days. And lots of people think that the 80s and early 90s was the best for the NBA in terms of talent.

It`s just a proven fact that you can not compare players of different eras; because of all of those reasons! My opinion, MJ is the greatest ever and that`s from a die hard Laker and Kobe fan!! I`m just happy my LakeShow didn`t get swept!!! Still got my Lakers in 7! (Missed the game, winning `A` weeknight championship against a good Bad Boyz squad! When we didn`t make the playoffs three years ago, and were bounced out in the first round the last two years! Ain`t no bandwagon jumping here!! Man, I`m a Falcons fan too so I`ll say that now while we SUCK and when we hopefully will be good one day you can`t say I jumped on the bandwagon. Though I`ll probably be dead and gone before that happens! You must be the same guy who GUARANTEED no td`s for me on Sunday too, so wrong again!

Shoot, you ain`t gotta be that old, maybe for the SHOWTIME LAKERS you remember, Magic`s first couple of years in the league!! I`ll be 28 real shortly! I remember those Lakers, of like 87-88 and on. When Magic was doing his thing then. The heartbreak of his announcement and retirement in the early 90`s! Then returning to the courts for a couple of months and then him trying to coach! That`s the Lakers I`m talking about.

Nah, I didn`t guarantee anything about anyone`s performance. It just sounds sketchy around this area when people are Lakers, or Patriots, or Red Sox fans. You know?
Then again, I was a Bulls fan in the late 80`s and early 90`s. Gotta call myself out on that one, definitely bandwagon.

How bout this...You can argue all day about who is better. I think when its all said and done Kobe will have better numbers and at the end of the day Men lie, Women lie, but Numbers dont. I also beleive that Jordan was and is the best to lace them up but records are ment to be broken and Kobe has the talent and the game to get it done, not to mention the youth. I guess if someone picks one or the other you really cant go wrong with either one. Kobe is the best all time scorer of all time. Dont even mention Chamberlin either, thats a perfect example of being ahead of your time not to mention those 100 points were all dunks and lay-ups. Kobe put up 81 threw 3.5 quarters.

Big time Lakers fan here. I had a chance to go to Staples center earlier this year to see the Lakers play. Nothing like being at the Staples center for a Lakers game. But that game last night felt like someone punched me in my gut and took the wind out of me. Going into this series, I knew just based on tradition alone that this would be a series for the ages. I still have a remote belief that Kobe and the Lakers are somehow going to do that but right now I just think KG and the crew are just to hungry right now. They`ll close out the series and the two teams will meet again in next year`s final with my Lakers having revenge on their mind and the young man Andrew Bynum will become a household name.

"Nothing like being at the Staples center for a Lakers game."
That had to be the most pathetic crowd I`ve ever seen last night, and for Game 3 for that matter. Lakers fans are pansies, and the Staples Center is nothing more than a hip and trendy club that just so happens to have a bball game going on in the middle. What a joke.
Nothing like being at staples center....LMAO.

Shaq needs to let it go. He once was the most dominant player ever, his time is over he should of called it quits after the fourth Championship with the heat. Shaq is only hurting his legacy, for those who wernt old enough to see him at his peak, to see him now does him no hustice. They both put it behind them and Shaq was the one to say that he was over it on MLK day two years ago. This is Shaq just wanting attention like he alwas does. Kobe didnt get this one, but his still young and so are the lakers, they will compete for the next 5 to 6 years.
