If it does happen it should be straight up 8 on 8.

Is this still going to happen how can B champs do it on the same day if B final4 is on the 29TH?
| |
|
Jun 10, 2008 9:39 AM | | ; |
We`re just running the A Champ vs C Champ, 7 on 8, game on 6/29 at 10:20.
If the A Champ opts out we`ll go down the line: runner-up, semifinalist, semifinalist etc., same with C Champ. Next year we`ll involve the B Champ.
If it does happen it should be straight up 8 on 8.
Let`s wait and see how it works out this year with the 7 on 8 format. If C wins the game, we`ll go with 8 on 8 next year.

why
Jun 10, 2008 10:22 AM | | ; |
Bundy and Fireman why you want to play them 8on8? champs mean they just beat all the best teams in A you think you better then all the other A teams they just beat?

No, but on the off chance that a C team does win (and yes, I realize its a slim chance) why give them an excuse? :)

I think we should go 8 on 8 just for the experience and to see what that level of competition is like. Non one said that they think they are better than the A champs.

Come on guys....do you really think the "A" Champs would even show up if it was 8 on 8????

suggestion
Jun 10, 2008 10:44 AM | | ; |
If you really want to make this a game it should be 6 v 8 and not 7 v 8.
Exhibit 1: United v Shower.
7 v 8 is still a 35-0 win for the A team.
| |
|
no point
Jun 10, 2008 10:44 AM | | ; |
if C won there would be an excuse, and if A wins (the most likely scenario) then C looks even worse than before.
no point to do this unless it`s 8 on 8. but I think it`s pretty obvious A takes the cake.

Are you high? C will not win 7 v 8 period. Not a slim chance try ZERO chance.

there is a point

I dont get where all these C teams, espiecially C teams with losses get off demanding there be a A vs. C 8 on 8. First win your playoffs, you guys should be concentrating on that and not worried about a damn exhibition game after the season. That right there shows us Open teams you guys aren`t ready. And it wont make the c team look bad if they lose 7 on 8 cause no one is expecting them to win anyways.... yes elite open teams are that much better.

but
Jun 10, 2008 10:51 AM | | ; |
i mean would you want to lose with an advantage, or lose with a level playing field?
i don`t want to fight kimbo slice if he has 1 hand behind his back...what if he catches me on the chin and knocks me out anyway? i look dumber than i did before.

You A players are acting like the star QB on a High School team that acts like they are better than everyone and looking down on everyone else. Sure, we know you are better, everyone knows you are better, but being ****y about it, especially in flag football is assanine. The Champ C team will most likely move to Open next year, and yes, they will problably get taught a lesson and have a reality check. But maybe the A Team could be good sports, play the C team so that they know what they have to work on and what the level of competition is like.
I`ve played on teams with x NFL and Arena Players, and none had the attitudes that the A players on this board have. They saw me as an average athlete wanting to having a blast and giving everything I had and didn`t berate me for my shortcomings.

I`m going to correct myself. It should be an 8 on 8 game. Was thinking about it and after a couple of thoughts none of the top teams would realistically show up (Top 4 or 5). And I`m not trying to knock you C league guys just being honest and giving my humble opinion. Like Tom stated above, if the top A team declines he`ll go down the list. If that`s the case you guys would end up playing Diesel (a mediocre A level team). Who I think would be a good match up for the C level champ.

I think everyone is forgeting that this is supposed to be a game that Tom is trying to make evenly matched. That is why there is 1 less player for the "A" team. It`s meant to be a competitive game, not an "A" team slaughtering a "C" team. Sure an 8 vs. 8 game will show a "C" team how far they need to go, but it`s not just about the "C" level teams. It`s also about the "A" level team seeing if they could compete with 1 less player.

What I don`t get is why any Open team would subject themselves to this, esp if they have States or Nationals on their mind. Why risk the injuries?

States is in December. I believe Nationals is around then as well.

Point taken, but why would you risk the injury in a meaningless game? If as an Open Team, you beat the C team 7 on 8, well you were supposed to. If you lose, then you look stupid. Either way, an unnecessary risk IMHO.

c teams stfup
Jun 10, 2008 4:58 PM | | ; |
seriously... u all asked for this and tom was nice enough to set it up on the condition it being 8 vs. 7... tom isn`t an idiot and set this league up over a decade ago... he knows the talent level differences between the two leagues if he says its comptitive at 8 vs 7 and that`s what the game is played at then be grateful you get to play another competitive game and stfup!

I see your point also. Guess it just really depends on the team and how bad they just want to play another game.

They are going to play 7 vs 8, be happy, if you win the C league, you get to play another game.

This is a discussion board. I enjoy the discussion. I was having a fairly decent discussion with `Playa`, why don`t you either contribute to to it or go away?
I`ll play the game, 7 on 8, 8 on 8, whatever. Doesn`t matter that much to me. I just like the idea of continuing to play.

You question everything...it`s annoying. They are playing 7 vs 8. If you don`t like it, don`t play.
Let me guess, you are going to reply to this, saying you have the right to reply?

Nah, I`d suggest that if little things like this bother you so much to seek professional help before its too late.
And to be clear, I never made a huge deal out of it, I`d just be happy to play.

My name is Scottie and I`m the old man(49 years old) that plays for the D-Mob team from richmond. I`ve been playing flag football for 28 years in richmond and I must say that IFFL spring league players show the best sportmenship that I have ever seen. If any of you guys want any tips on some of the plays that we use, feel free to gave me a call.
