Is it by overall standings at the end. One post said that Tom does the seeding? Is that true or is it some combination of team reputation and standings?? anybody know how it works..

I`m not 100% sure but I think Tom uses staggered seeding in B.

the truth

there is no seeding for B, but I don`t think this is right. I believe that this is so that a borderline A/B team doesn`t throw their last reg season game to be the number 1 seed in B.

sucks

it would suck if two high seeded B teams had to play each other

Most of the time the real champ. game is the first game in B. I don`t like it either. Not our fault there is no B divison.

"How does B get seeded..."
Here is your answer.
4 best teams in B played each other 1st Diesel v. Arsenal Mutiny v. Spalding
This is not true. Seedings are staggered, not adjacent. Plus, the match-ups mentioned never even happened regardless of seeding:
round 1 B playoffs Spring 2007 Over Rated 14 Hounds 12 Clubhouse 6 The Union 14 Raw Dawgs 0 CRISAK 26 Titans 7 MuddDawgs 10 Entourage vs. The Nuts MAC Daddies 21 Prowlers 0 Vegas Nights 18 Scrubs 6
round 1 B playoffs Fall 2007 Arsenals 40 Midgets 0 (play-in game) Scrubs 0 Mutiny 7 (play-in game) Goldrush 30 Mutiny 15 Outlaws vs. Southside Grays Diesel 27 Bladerunners 15 The Nuts 14 Arsenals 21
it would suck if two high seeded B teams had to play each other
So its okay for the #16 seed overall to play the #1 seed overall in "A", but its unfair for the #17 seed (the team right behind #16)to play the #21 seed in "B"?
B playoff seeding won`t change. We`ve always done it this way - always will. It adds an additional element of challenge to the "B" tournament and offers the opportunity for all teams who do not make the "A" playoffs to have a competitive first round game. No one "earns" the #17 slot.
Would the "top 4" teams in "B" (17,18,19,20) be happier if we extended the "A" playoffs to 20 teams with 4 play-in games?

I just believe that if you have a separate tourney for B level teams that it should be seeded correctly. I still don`t understand why you would want another "element" added to the B level tourney, why not do that with the A tourney if you want to add another, "element"? The only reason I can think of is that you don`t want a team tanking to get a high B seed, which I think would be unlikely, as most teams are competitive enough not to do this.

no matter what spot you end up its what you earned...whoever ends up 17 earned that spot the same way a team earns the #1 and a team earns the #32

"B" originated as the consolation tournament for all the teams that did not make the playoffs. Before that, those teams did not have any postseason.
Every year someone complains about the seeding, but we`re not going to change the way we seed the B tournament. Period.
Just because you finish #17, doesn`t mean you get to beat up on #32, while #16 has to play #1. Most of the teams that I talk to who finish #17, #18, #19 are upset that they missed the "A" cutoff, not upset that they have to play a team seeded 4 ranks below them.
I apologize if the tone of this sounds a little harsh, but I don`t want teams to get the impression we decided this arbitrarily. Its league policy. You are entitled to your opinion, your opinion has merit, our opinion has merit, but the policy won`t change.

I understand your point of view, just don`t agree with it, I also understand the format will never change. Just thought I`d express my opinion as I`ve heard the same from many teams. Beating up on a #32 seed wouldn`t be my mindset, just a fair "B" level style of playoffs for those that didn`t make "A".

If you

are truly the best "B" team, they you will win out no matter who you play. Your sole concern should be to improve your team and the best way to do that is to play better teams.

My concern isn`t whether or not my team is the best "B" team or getting better, just a concern about having the same style system that every playoff bracket has. Anyways, it`s a lost cause, it was just my two cents, I understand things are how they are.

We played in the B bracket a couple of years ago and we had the same concerns , but it all worked itself out.We did not get rewarded for making the B bracket , so it was treated as a concolation game against a team with a similar record. It will all work out .Just do your thing and win !
