How did the Mutiny lose to the Union 10-6, and then go on to beat the Drunken Clams 50 to 7? Was the first game just a warmup or do the Drunken Clams just EAD?

How did Outcast beat the mighty Titans and then go on to lose to the unknown United? It looks like Outcast needs a miracle to make the A-playoffs. Go Wolverines!!!

Speaking of which, how big is that game between Vegas Nights and the Wolverines? Vegas is playing for a spot in the big dance and the Wolverines are playing to get that number eight spot. A big win for both of those teams, but I think everyone is quietly cheering for the Vandals to have a big night and screw everyone`s bracket.

Don`t worry, you won`t. By the way, I actually think at least 3 teams were better than you this spring.

No Outcast,

Your last touchdown was luck ... the extra point was karma.

Not sure -- How can the OUTCAST even have a chance at making the A playoffs. Didn`t they lose to Kil_ROYs -- & All Makes and Models. SO even if Kilroys loses -- all 3 of them would be 4-3 -- so if HEAD to HEAD means anything - isn`t OUTCAST -- already Eliminated?????

Since All makes & models & OUTCAST have the same record -- And AMAKESANDMODELS beat OUTCAST -- Shouldn`t ALL MAKES be higher than OUTCAST - no matter what happens to the KILROY Cats

Point differential is only if there is a 3 way tie where each team beat the other one.. in this Case -- OUTCAST is already eliminated - Sorry guys. I will update the standings.

sounds like more people are afraid of Outcast getting into the A bracket than they are of the undefeated teams that are already there.Seems like people just need somebody to rag on this board. Here`s a suggestion-- why not let Tom and Rob figure who is in and who is not and then figure out who you have to worry about.

Looking at all the teams that have a 0.571 winning percentage. Here`s the possible scenario.

If Vegas Night wins, they`re in. If they lose it comes down to points between them and All Makes.

Vegas Night(+4.8) beat Going Deep(+5.3) - so GD is out of contention

Outlaws(-1.2) beat Fighting Chicken(+7) - Fighting Chicken are out

All Makes(+1.4) beat Outcast(+6.7) - Outcast are gone

All Makes have a better pt. diff. than Outlaws. - Outlaws are out

Vegas Night, don`t get blown out!

Whoever posted "I will update the standings" is not with the league, and the post right above this one is wrong. I don`t mind explaining this every year as we`d rather have teams aware that there is a process.

Here`s who we have tied record-wise at 4-3:

16 Fighting Chickens 4-3 (+49)

17 Outcast 4-3 (+47)

18 Goin Deep 3-2-2 (+37)

19 All Makes 4-3 (+10)

20 Outlaws 4-3 (-9)

If All Makes was directly behind Outcast, and the team directly behind All Makes was not a team that had beaten All Makes, those two (Outcast - All Makes) would swap rankings.

Otherwise, head-to-head comes into play and trumps point differential when its applicable to all the tied teams (i.e no team is 0-0 in the head-to-head). You don`t apply it to some and not to others. All Makes cannot leapfrog Goin Deep. If so, then you could argue that the Outlaws should be #16 since they beat the Fighting Chickens.

We are consistant on this:

We had the same situation last year with Goldrush and Mutiny. Mutiny had a higher point differential but Goldrush beat Mutiny in the regular season. Both teams finished with the same record, but No Fear was between them in point differential - therefore they were ranked: Mutiny, No Fear, Goldrush.

Back to 2006, Vegas Nights has to win or tie their game to clinch a finish in the top 16. If they lose, Outcast becomes the #16 seed. If the Kilroys Lions lose by a big enough margin, and Vegas Nights wins, Lions drop out of the top 16.

Also, and for comparison, in the Novice League we took the top six from each division. If you look at Novice National, you`ll notice that teams 4-6 are seeded in the reverse order that they finished in point differential. Why? because they all beat each other (A beat B, B beat C, C beat A) so we take the PD only in the games played between those 3 teams.

This is like crying about who gets to be the last ones in the NCAAs but the difference being you will not be on tv and you will not get to hang a banner in your gym and no one will see you or care when you are embarassed in the only game you get to play.

Be realstic do you want a chance to go all the way in the NIT or get stomped and go home with nothing to show after one game?

Although the #1 seed has never lost a first round game, its not out of the question. The #15 seed knocked out the #2 seed as recently as two years ago.

A #1 seed has lost in the first round in the fall league A playoffs (last year- Fighting Chickens over Scrubs), albeit to an 8 seed. I realize that there are fewer good teams in the fall, and that there were only 8 teams in the playoffs, but it goes to show you that anything can happen.
