This question is for Tom, or anyone else who might know the answer. I know we aren`t allowed to wear shorts with pockets, but I was wondering about wearing shorts that have the pockets sewn closed. Would that be allowed or would it still be a penalty?

The league used to allow players to tape their pockets, but that rule was changed a couple of seasons ago, so it`s no longer allowed. I assume the same goes for sewing of pockets. If you can`t find men`s shorts w/o pockets, try big women`s shorts, they usually don`t have `em.

Take your butt to Target and buy yourself a pair of $10 mesh shorts. You probably spend more on gas money driving to the games.

My pockets are sewed up pretty good. It should be ok as long as they don`t rip open.

Honestly the refs or other players can`t tell they are closed until you inspect them. Is that fair? The rule says no pockets, sewn closed pockets still have pockets there, they are just closed. No pockets means just that.

Sheeezzzzzzzzzz

the reason why you cant have pockets is for safety precautions.(ex. if a player reaches for a flag and gets his finger caughtin the pocket, he could injure himself. sounds retarded but hey it could happen) so obviously if you sew up your pockets, you will not have that problem.

Its not retarded as I`ve seen it happen. A guy broke his index finger cause his finger got caught in a pocket.

I don`t see a problem if they are sewn so that it basically is a completely flush surface with the rest of the pants.

$50???

Fitty for shorts? Wow! I didn`t know you could spend $50 for shorts if you wanted to, then again, I wouldn`t want to. Now, maybe they come w/a built in vacu-jack; then you`re talkin`!

$50 for shorts? Sounds like someone has their priorities messed up. Kinda like when you drive through the hood and see nice cars.

nothing wrong with wearing nice shorts to play flag football. theres a lot of people who spend a good amount of money buying underarmour, nice cleats, sweat bands, gloves and socks.

Not everyone works for nickels. Some people with good jobs have the luxury of spending $50 on shorts. Dont hate, graduate

Those who wasted money on 50 buck shorts will be the first ones to complain about going to MD to play first round games. Or are the ones that want to fight because they broke a nail while flag guarding.

Want fashion go to the mall.

And they get torn the first weekend when some clumsy poop can`t figure out how to grab a flag... I`ll stick with the freebies I find in the lost and found.

Don`t hate, graduate? If you`d graduated...you`d appreciate the value of a dollar these days, regardless if your bougouis. $50 for some shorts? Theres no way you can justify that.
