Riverview:

Playmakers and Bad Boyz - a great rivalry. The game came down to the final minute. Bad Boyz scored to cut the Playmakers lead to 13-12, then opted for the 2 pt conversation and the win. Ball was batted down.

Grand Hustle and Vegas Nights. GH is a brand new team with a lot of potential and some extremely athletic players. Though the loss was big - they did not get down on themselves. Expect them to improve by strides in a few weeks. Vegas is a hot and cold team which was on fire yesterday. If they can maintain that for the rest of the season, this division could get very interesting.

D.M. and Newbies. It turns out Newbies are partially the old Broadlands Pub/Hounds team with some new blood - so not true "Newbies". Anyone who has spent time around the "A" final four at VA states would swear they`ve seen D.M. somewhere before. Newbies had to adjust on the fly to an unorthodox offense which looks easy to defend against....on paper at least.

Rhinos controlled the football game against Off in the Shower. I think the score was 17-0 and could have easily been 24-0 if not for an underthrown ball in the endzone. Off in the Shower`s offense was strictly their QB running for his life. He`s definitely a weapon but can`t do it himself against the strong A division teams. As for the Rhinos being old, they looked better than they have in a while with a new QB (I think it`s the bald guy that played with the Novas) and a new tall dude at center who caught and threw a TD pass. Ty from the Novas was also playing with them. At least for Week 1 they looked solid.

Off in the Shower is a decent team with an athletic QB. They can definately compete in A and you gotta respect that they are making the jump up. The QB has great mobility, but needs to find a way to involve others, (pss.. dump to linemen when it breaks down). I say decent, only because I didn`t get to see much of anyone else with the ball. The line played very well on both sides of the ball - and they got one guy that will give anybody fits..#50 I think? They could very well go around .500 this season. It was a good game and definately more competitive than what we anticipated. As for bad calls, I didn`t really see it, maybe Shower will disagree. Each team threw a pretty bad pick though that could of swung it to a blowout, or a closer game. But good luck this year, Shower. Enjoyed the competition.

Oh and Game Over.. thanks for the original comment.. maybe next week you`ll come up with something even more insightful.

Liger & Brass Monkey are new teams that should drop down to the "C" league and learn how to play in this league and then make the jump up. Both teams seem very young and have a very big learning curve. Hopefully they don`t get too down on themselves because they are going to struggle to compete all season long.

That may have been the best thing about the Brass Monkey`s. They never gave up or got on each other. After the game they all stayed and tried to figure out what went wrong. They will only get better. They have one very good D lineman.

It is a game and someone has to lose. The more experience you get , the better you become. Not everyone starts out on top.

As an elder in this league and a good friend of the Rhino`s, I also agree with the assessment of O.I.T.S. The QB is young and quick, but needs more experience in "flag" football. Its a totally different game game when everyone is eligible and the defense is seasoned (aka "old and done").

I agree they will be a force down the road, but not until they realize, when it comes to flag football, youth and talent don`t get you as far as experience and patience .

Just remember, EVERYONE is supposed to score in flag football, its your job to make sure you make one stop or one more score!!

Lone Wolf

The Wolves... what a let down. I hear the Wolves are overrated. They got 2 fluke touchdowns and number 9 had two lucky plays. One play the guy didn`t even know where he was running. He looked lost. Maybe it was all the muscles. As for their offense, all they do is dump the ball and never go down the field. I think its because the QB`s arm is as weak as water. As for 27, all I`ve heard about this guy is he is a big mouthed midget that does nothing but scream. He really let me down. He didn`t do **** and most of all he didn`t say ****. What a let down. Over all this team is over rated and nothing but hype. I was not impressed. They looked average at best against a below average team. What a bunch of washed up, wanna be football players that got cut from their high school teams. Go water boys!

Most of us took C in the fall with NTAC and that was purely winging it and winning because we more athletic player for player than the teams we played against. We still feel like we are, but like it was said above that isn`t gonna be enough in A. Experience will come and we`ll utilize our weapons better. We just have to be patient and be on the same page every minute of the game. Our slip ups are never small they always cost points and we need to get over that. Haha and how nice to draw Rhinos and Wolves in our first two A games, At least we`ll be warmed up quick.

Sounds as if you are a wolf player dogging your own team for fun in hopes to start some conversation. We realize its boring at the top sometimes. Don`t worry, you`ll be relevent again come playoff time.

Lone Wolf is probably someone that used to play for them. A couple douchebags aren`t on that team anymore. They rarely post here, and don`t talk like that.

They played before us and moved up and down the field on the Banditos. They`re as solid as ever, and are certainly one of the 6-7 teams that can easily win it all this spring.
