Top Five Teams:

There has been alot of hype over new teams: When it comes to playoffs, its a different ball game.

(1) Lazy Sunday: You got to give it up for the Hurricanes, not only an experienced squad of pure athletes, but the owner happens to be the commish, followed up by being the Bark Bowl champions and played with the best.
(2) Kilroy Lions: I don`t care what anybody says about the Lions and their lack lustered season. Still a top breed of athletes, followed by strict management, not changing the fact that they been there and done that.
(3) Playmakers: Man these guys are intense and hungry. Reside out of Maryland where football is life.
(4) Rhinos: Once again, its about experience and having that extra thing? Rhinos have won titles before and I think they don`t plan on stopping.
(5) Banditos: Heard good things about this team, placed here only too round up the food chain.

My guess is you could keep your list to 3. Rhino`s wont surprise anyone this time, and the Bandito`s aren`t quite there yet.

I agree with your list, for the most part:

1. Lazy looks good and appears to be the team to beat.

This season`s title is theirs to lose

2. Kilroys could make a run, but they are too banged up

and don`t have much of a bench to go all the way

3. Playmakers are darkhorse favorites. They definitely

have the tools. Win or lose, they`ll put a hurtin` on you

4. Rhinos experience and the play of their QB makes them

definite contenders. I predict they will play Lazy for the

title

5. Banditos came up fast in this league and play some

pretty damn good ball. But let`s see how they do in the

postseason before we put them in consideration with the

rest of these veteran teams

IFFL - commissioner

Just to set the record straight:

The IFFL and the FCFFL have three commissioners - each with a balance. The phrase "the commish" does not apply. There is a not one person who runs the leagues or makes decisions out of hand.

Yes, one of the three commissioners coaches Lazy Sundae, another commissioner coaches a different team, and another does not coach or play on any team. I wouldn`t use the word "own". Is there really a team out there that someone paid money to acquire?

Those two teams do not get any VIP treatment from the league, because the players on those teams understand that we would not jeopardize the integrity of the league. Those who know us - know that.

When scheduling make-up games for Virginia, the Lazy Sundae coach/league co-commissioner just told me, "put us wherever there is room left or whatever makes things easier".

I`m not criticizing what you wrote, I just don`t want anyone to take it the wrong way.

Things are a lot different with the current commish`s. The last guy was nice, but had his own way of influencing officials, rosters, etc. These guys are great, and the officiating is WAY better than before (will never be perfect!).

I am in no hurry to play the Playmakers...sounds like they like to hit (which if taken too far is an exploitable weakness). Dont forget about the NOVA`s if they can get their horses on the field.

As an FYI to all and to reiterate what Tom says above...

We played Lazy this past weekend and I thought the officiating was fine. In fact the only questionable call during the game went our way.

Hats off to the guys that are running this league, they`re doing a bang-up job.

Yup, always dangerous, but I gotta agree that the injuries are gonna be too much for them to overcome. They`ve lost several of their money players. Hopefully they`re ready for the Fall.

it seems to me that #4 and #5 need to be switched. banditos beat the rhinos and, from what was reported, banditos were down players and were also missing their best receiver. i`d put the banditos at #4 and have rhinos finish out top 5.

Titans?

Titans are not that good, they`ve just caught teams at the right time when key players were missing.

Let me start off by saying: No disrespect to Lazy Sunday and their game play. Mentioning the commish, was not meant towards getting calls from the ref`s, only meaning that he has his eye on talent and has put sufficient amount of work to build his franchise. Also, this league has success from more than just Rob. Tom must be recognized from all that he has put in as well.

With that out the way, lets address some of the responses. Titans, are an excellent team without a doubt, but "A" playoffs is a different league than the regular season. Teams like the Titans will see a different intensity when they meet some of the more experience powerhouses. Banditos, look the most impressive out of the newcomers but there will be a cinderella story, whether it’s Banditos or the Titans. Either team good luck. My final prediction will be the top four on my list as the final four, pending on the bracket. Final: Lazy Sunday vs. Playmakers. Playmakers win

Okay the bracket are out and its time to make your picks:

Round 1

Playmakers vs Fighting Chickens: Comon man, if the Playmakers don`t win this one, then they shouldn`t drive down to VA anymore.

Scrubs vs K.Lions: Lions take this one, could be a nail biter because the Lions start off slow.

Banditos vs Larrys: If the hype is ripe, then the amigos will win.

Novas vs Titans: Experience, Experience, and oh i almost forgot, experience. Novas win.

MacDaddies vs Redskins: Da Daddies are looking good this season, they will win this round.

Goldrush vs Rhinos: Rhinos play to the level of competition, but i am sure they will take this round.

United vs Vegas Nites: I play for United so i am biased on this game. I would rather be in Vegas than play them, but maybe the ball might roll our way this round.

Lazy vs Wolverines: one word, "Lazy"

WE ARE GOING TO WIN THE WHOLE DAMN THING

Experience does matter, only `cause the games are so short/most teams that havent "been there, done that" panic after getting punched in the jaw. It may only be flag, but the playoffs definitely are different.

Like the Red Sox, the White Sox, etc., the Lions are due. Word is they have their old QB back, putting their other QB back into the mix as a WR (from the center position!)/very dangerous combo.

And, by the way, no one scores on them very easily.

I have never seen the Playmakers, but it sounds like they come from a pretty serious league/wont get frazzled very easily=dangerous.

Lazy is the only other team that has the mojo.

This means if you are going to knock these teams out, gotta do it early/as they stakes get higher, the sphincters get tighter which favors experienced teams.

Wow...did I just overanalyze that to death.

Almost Agree

May 25, 2006
2:10 PM

Lions do look much better with their old QB taking snaps, but too many injuries and not enough bench will keep them from winning it. They`ll get past the first round (no disrespect, Scrubs), but they don`t have enough fire power to beat the Playmakers.

The game I wanna see is Vegas vs. Lazy in Round Two!

Is the Lions guy (#9) playing center,qb,or wr?

Prolly

Playing center, if CJ is back at qb. Nidal is an amazing athlete, but my guess is they are more dangerous this way.

Its their defense that wins for them anyways. The Scrubs have added younger, faster players but I would be stunned if they can beat the Lion`s corners...

Lion`s corners are very good but can be beaten.
