Unsportsmanlike Conduct

Fighting.
I witnessed it today AGAIN on the playing field, and not player on player, player on referee. Let`s get somethings straight. This is a competitive league in which the refs ruling on the field is the only ruling that counts. Get used to it...that`s their job...your job is to bring your A-game to the field, stop your ****-talking, and show what you have on the field...not anywhere else.
There should be absolutely no room for any type of unsportsmanlike behavior on our playing fields. I wouldn`t want anyone on our team doing it and I wouldn`t want anyone doing it to us.
THERE SHOULD BE NO TOLERANCE and unfortunately someone has be made an example of.
STOP ALL THIS FIGHTING...this is an organized sport and not some backyard hooligan ballgame.

observer

I witnessed this from the sideline as an observer. This game was so close and that’s what makes this sad. A call is a call like it or not, the initial penalty wasn’t even a game-breaker. CN should have taken the penalty and moved on, they were marching down the field and probably would have scored to win the game. But what happen was pretty scary, the CN player just kept talking and talking and it boiled over to an “attack” (verbal and pretty darn close to physical) on the referee.
My opinion; the CN player should be done for GOOD. You might ask why I say for good, well for the people that were there and witnessed it, can tell you how “relentless” the player was. It was a good 3 or 4 minutes of jawing, and that’s a LONG time, he was almost inciting his team-mates and you can almost see a physical “attack” about to unravel.
Just my 2 cents

Sure it will be brought to Toms attention, if it hasn`t already, he is pretty good at dealing with non sense like that.

Physical?
Oct 14, 2007 3:13 PM | | ; |
From what I saw across the field was the referee coming out of the crowd of people with his shirt untucked, as in it was pulled out. I`m pretty sure I heard people proclaiming that the CN player had taken a swing that wasn`t successfully landed.

Really?

Just have to wait and see what comes of it. Heard it was a damn good game though, ruined by something like this, damn shame.

Either way, I agree. No room for that behavior. If the altercation was just verbal, hopefully the player will get a punishment that`s appropriate, but if there was anything physical the player should be removed from the league.

Ummmm...that really has nothing to do with the behavior of the player being discussed. Everyone feels like they get calls against them that aren`t right, or even fair, but that doesn`t give ANYONE the right to threaten someone for doing their job.
And I normally wouldn`t say anything about this, but proof read your posts before you submit them. Poor spelling and grammar just drug your post even lower than it already was.

Yo, i was apart of the game today and i can tell you .. the player was backing up his team mate because he thoguht that one of our players tackled him .. and he kept on jawing with the ref .. he jawed with all three of the refs .. and the far ref simply asked him to just cool off and leave .. and then he turned to the ref and started steppin up and said some things .. the refs called a fair game .. but that player basically costed his team the game

As an FYI, procedure is:
the officials send a write-up with recommendations we contact the coaches for each team for additional input we review and compare past similar incidents and action taken we advise the team(s) of any action to be effected

roster checks
Oct 15, 2007 7:50 AM | | ; |
I saw players on CN that I have never saw in my life. Check their roster! The rosters were locked in Week 3, why do they have the right to add people to their team?
| |
|
ummmmm
Oct 15, 2007 7:59 AM | | ; |
i thought their was tension from the beginning of the game, because didnt #16 fall down on a breakout run?? did CN trip him?, and it started from there? because it looked like he got hurt pretty bad, he had to get carried off the field
| |
|
Roster?
Oct 15, 2007 9:28 AM | | ; |
After week 3, true the rosters are locked, if I am not mistaken, you can challenge a player from the opposing team before kickoff if he is on the roster or not, im not 100% sure but I think thats the way it works, if I am wrong, someone chime in.

naw .. our WP#16 was playing hurt .. Chuck Norris is a vet team .. we got respect for them .. dont kno if they respect us but it dont really matter cuz as far as i kno they been playin longer and have more experience then us .. they played a great game .. unfortunate to end the game like that .. this is the first time we`ve played them

Big mouth
Oct 15, 2007 2:25 PM | | ; |
It isn`t the first time that Chuck has mouthed off at the refs... usually it is just one or guys that can`t get over themselves and create the meltdown. Regardless, nobody should be physically confronting the officials, especially not with all the crap that has gone down the past couple years.

Oct 15, 2007 4:58 PM | | ; |
Chuck Norris may have been in the league for a few years but they have and will never be good. You have to respect all teams but some just dont deserve it. They have had a blow up or two in the past but I have never seen anything physical.

I`ve seen that guy lose it before. I guess he is having a mid life crisis with a failing flag football team to define him. For veterans of the C league they should know the rules better than all of us.

I admit I was loud and obnoxious during the first half maybe even too loud, but nothing directly to disrespect any of the players on CN. I have respect for every team in this organization A B and C (we`re all here for fun and games and is probably only thing keeping us in shape). All I was trying to do was make the game more interesting and motivate my teammates.
I think the player (not players) from CN just had enough of my loud mouth and felt he needed to retaliate back directly. Once I shut my mouth up (my game spoke for me) he seemed to cooled down until a couple of plays he thought a flag should`ve been thrown (good call by refs by not throwing the flag, not cause it was to our advantage but they were just the right calls by the ref).
It was a great game all the way to the end. Refs called a clean game all the way and allowed the players to play their game. In fact the game was so clean I don’t think there was a penalty marker on the ground until that player got in all the refs face, giving up a big opportunity for CN to win the game.
None the less I apologize if you guys or anyone felt I was being rude or had said anything offensive. I didn’t mean anything to be directed at any single player but you got to admit, the game sure did get interesting.
Good game and good luck to everyone.

Chuck Norris #24
Oct 17, 2007 4:38 PM | | ; |
First of all, the incident on Sunday was not a representation of us as a team and it’s unfortunate that it overshadowed an otherwise great, close contest. We have handled the situation internally as a team and it won’t be happening again.
Secondly in regards to #16; he wasn’t tripped; I was right there and he fell down on his own. We don’t play like that and we hope #16 is alright.
Lastly, our roster is legal.
As a team we’re out there to play ball, have some fun and maybe even talk a little trash like everyone else; and we’re going to continue to come out and do just that. Good game Wolfpack and good luck to everyone here in the upcoming playoffs. -#24
