who would have to play in MD?
It could be no VA teams, but at the most 3. The `compromise` fields we can get in the Alexandria area are nowhere near the condition of the MD field - plus Redskins are on the road at NE on 10/28 (no back-up on 495 heading into MD), so we will use the MD field on that day.
Hypothetically, lets say the Badboyz finish 2nd overall. This means on 10/28, later in the morning, they would face the winner of the game between #7 and #10. Right now, both of those teams are MD teams anyway, but chances are this will change between now and the end of the morning on 10/21 (final week of regular season).
In the same hypothetical, if BOTH #7 and #10 want to play their first game that day at 8:00 in VA and then the winner drives 30 min to the field in MD to play Badboyz in a quarterfinal at 11:20 - that is doable. If one or both teams wants to just play the first game in MD at 9:00 and hang around another 70 minutes to play the Badboyz then we`ll do it that way.
Lets say the Badboyz finish 3rd (lose to the Sharks this Sunday and Sharks win out rest of games, but beat Playmakers on 10/21 and then still win division based on point diff)...then they would play the winner of #6 vs #11, and those teams would have the same options.
If the Badboyz finish #1 then they would play the winner of #8 vs #9 on 10/28 later in the morning.
Along with the 2 games mentioned above, there may be a B game scheduled for MD.
Veteran`s Day (11/11)
There has been concern expressed about playing on Veteren`s Day - on which we`ve tentatively scheduled the championship games at Pop Tree Park. After all the 10/28 games, when we know who the final 4 teams are in A, B and C - we`ll ask each of theose 12 teams what they would prefer: play semis on 11/4 (Pop Tree) and championships on 11/11 (Pop Tree) play semis and championships on 11/4 (Pop Tree) play semis on 11/4 (Pop Tree) and championships on 11/18 (Hook)
We`ll eliminate one of the three options after the first round of voting, then vote between the remaining two options.
