Ok Boys and Girls, the playoffs are finally here, as is my yearly rant about them! Before I start babbling about football, let me say this. I voted for Katherine, and although she lost to that Vegas lounge singer, she is one "HOT BABE"! Ok Tony, lets here some first round analysis...

Playmakers vs Chickens: This one has the looks of a blowout. Although the MD division seems to be the weakest one, the Playmakers have shown all season that they are here to win the title. Good defense and a solid QB will always give you a chance to win and they have both. Although the Chickens are a veteran team and can put up points, the Playmakers are a step above. Playmakers 23-7

Kilroys vs Scrubs: Looks close on paper but I think the Lions have the advantage with that incredible D. The Scrubs have added some youth and speed; and they have shown all year they can score. The only problem? Kilroys doesn`t give up a lot of points, and this game will be no different. Look for the Lions to control the clock from the start and win in typical Lions fashion, by grinding it out. Kilroys 13-3

Titans vs NOVAs: The Titans drew the awful #5/#12 seed. On top of that, they meet a NOVAs team that owns them. They had a great season and showed they are one of the teams on the move; unfortunately the NOVAs are a veteran team that knows how to win big games come playoff time. This one will be tight early but the NOVAs experience is going to be too much for the Titans to overcome. NOVAs 17-7

Banditos vs Larry’s: Great first round matchup. The Banditos have come of age this spring and now look to parlay that into playoff success. They have all the weapons necessary to make a deep playoff run. Larry’s has a ton of playoff experience, not to mention they handed the Banditos their only loss during the regular season, winning on the last play of the game. This one will again be tight, but with a different outcome. Banditos 17-14

Mac Daddies vs Redskins: A veteran Mac Daddies team has put together a great season so far. They keep finding ways to win, and that`s all that matters. The Redskins had a good season, losing only to the NOVAs and Playmakers, but this is a first year team and that inexperience is going to hurt them in the playoffs. The Mac Daddies look to continue that undefeated season, and they will. Mac Daddies 21-7

Rhinos vs Goldrush: Matchup of two veteran teams. The Rhinos have struggled on offense at times this season while Goldrush has shown they have learned how to win the close ones. The playoffs are usually about defense, and the Rhinos have one of the best. Although Goldrush has a big time playmaker, the Rhinos will put the clamps down and show why they are the defending champs. Rhinos 14-7

United vs Vegas Nights: Fantastic 1st round matchup. United has shown they are for real. They have an elusive QB and a big time playmaker at receiver. They keep mistakes to a minimum as well. The Vegas Nights appear to be hitting their stride at the right time. This bunch of former Muddcats is very disciplined and know how to win in the playoffs. This one will be decided in the end. Vegas Nights 17-14

Lazy Sundae vs Wolverines: Lazy has dominated all season. The Wolverines had a chance to be the #8 seed, but ended up with #15. That sums up this game. Although the Wolverines gave Lazy a run last week, don`t expect that to happen again. The Wolverines are a sound team with aQB who can hurt you, but its playoff time, and Lazy will be focused this week. Lay’s athleticism will be too much. Lazy Sundae 28-7

This has to be Tom...who else wathces all of these teams play?

I dont know all of these teams, but I know the NOVA`s (if they have all of their horses), Lions and Lazy have superior athletes AND experience AND tough defenses: that should be enough.

Working backwards, most teams would love to see them get ambushed/have an early exit. Chances of an upset?

I dont know the Titans well enough to comment on that game.

The Wolverines play very smart, clever football...but lack enough weapons to upset Lazy unless several things seriously go their way. By the way, one thing that never gets enough pub is flag pulling. Lazy has a half dozen guys that can pull flags with their teeth better than most of the rest of us.

That brings us to Lions/Scrubs. Everyone knows the Lions history of early exits. Here is what is different this time: the speed the Scrubs have added comes at the expense of a coherent defense...The Lions will get some big broken plays that will take pressure off. On offense, if there was ever a team that could find a way to move the ball on the Lions it would be the no-huddle Scrubs, but I just dont think their QB can handle the pass rush.

No, I don`t write these but I love reading them and I think its great for the league. In fact, when we upgrade the messageboard soon I`ll add another dimension to it. So - Kornhieser, Wilbon, Collinsworth, Kiper etc... you need to send me an email address (one of you has emailed me before but send it to me again anyway) so I can send you something. I will not reveal your identity to anyone - you have my word. If you want to create a free email account or something to remain anonymous go right ahead.

Lions may not have won a title, but they went to the finals 2 of the last 3 years.

This year`s crown will go to the winner of the Lazy vs Vegas game in Round 2

No Huddle?

I read this board all the time/first time I have heard about this. Does it matter?

I think so

No huddle all the way down the field does matter, we`re all working men and for one with family life, work, and everything that comes along with the day to day package, there are not very many of us that can all out run for 40 minutes, so with a no huddle when if comes to the middle of the second half you have a lot of short tugging air grasping going on...therefore those cats out there that are in shape to run every down it will matter...

It is obvious that Good Job doesn`t do much research. If you go to the Lions home page, they have played 4 falls and 3 springs. They have been to the title game 4 times and the semis another 2 times. Only once have they been knocked off in the first round (spring 05).

Do a little research before you post something.

Alright, alright... I am not writing a PhD thesis, fellahs. My "research" was the dozens of messages over the last couple of seasons going on and on about how the L`s "choke", "all you got to do is get them in the playoffs", etc. Where were you professors then? Not trying to pick a fight, but also not shooting for a pulitzer prize either. Of course, now I realize "learning" something from this board is like "learning" something from crap like "Farenheit 911", "JFK", etc., so please accept my apologies!

Either way, the Lions roll in round 1.

I respect anyone`s opinion, as long as it is not based on Hollywood b.s! It is frightening how many people quoted that movie as if they just took a history class at Harvard...it took facts extremely out of context/very misleading.

Once again, my apologies to the L`s/wasnt trying to diss them at all.

Goldrush has some very good WR`s. However they have the worest O Line. Rush three and watch out for the center pass and you will win easy.

Ignorance is bliss...

Who said I am pro-Bush? I am pro "common sense".

Did Bush lie?

yes.

Did Clinton?

yes.

Did Bush senior?

Prolly.

Did Reagan?

Prolly.

THEY ARE POLITICIANS! It is a job requirement. However, if you are going to have an opinion, you should consider thinking for yourself your job requirement. Like I said, I dont care what your political views are, but people ignorant enough to believe Hollywood nonsense need to go back to school, do some research, or shut up.

Not sure what this has to do with flag!

Funny thing,

President Bush did not lie. At my church last Monday, a former general to Saddam spoke that in 2003 when Saddam realized that America was coming, he utilized a catastrophe in Syria to send "helpful good" to Syria. The fact is those goods were WMD, allowing him to get the WMD out of the country of Iraq.

It`s been a rough go for Bush, but the public is only fed what the media wants us to hear.

If he is a former Saddam general then of course he is telling the truth. No former Saddam general would throw around bull**** like that just because he knows there is a audiance of dumb ****s ready to eat it up right? maybe that former general can tell us where OBL is since after spending $200 billion on this war we still havent caught him? Doh! I forgot Iraq is the one who attacked us on 9/11 right?there was no WMD. Only the most ignorant poeple in the world still buy that bull****. bush was planning to attack them ever since he took office.

It`s funny you guys all sit on here and try to slam Dave Nagel; yet he is the only one that his written his name on his post.

I guess that is par for the course for a flaming liberal, it is very easy to attack somebody when you are part of a mob.

Oh yeah and one more suggestion before you decide to attack somebody you should take a long hard look at your grammar.

Just wanted to share some info that`s a bit more fact based than some of the info we`re seeing in the media. Just some information that you should ponder.

Appreciate your comments. Especially about the 7-11 general, pretty funny, be sure to mention your prejudice to him when you see him again on your next trip to get a big bite.

Back to football - True, let`s talk football. I am stupid, retarted and gullible...you are all right. Good luck to everyone next weekend.

Everyone who thinks Bush was less than honest to get us into iraq must be a flaming liberal or only gets their info from farenhiet 911 because thats what Rush says (sarcasm).

In reality the only ones left who actually believe he was totally acting on good faith are people who can`t comprehend that he would lie since they think he is acting on religious faith or those who are so fearful of having democrats in power that no matter what Bush did or does it can never be worse than that.

Its one thing to lie like someone said every president and politician does it but this one cost 2,500 US soldiers dead 20,000 maimed for life and over 100,000 iraq civilians and more money than any of us can comprehend. Think about it.

So what exactly is "fact based" about what he said? If something is a fact it is provable. please show us where the proof is. Show us where this info is on the whitehouse website or anywhere for that matter I mean come on now in this day in age if there is any hint of truth its on the web somewhere.
