I know Lions run it very well. I have seen the novice team Diesel run the spread offence. It looks like it works well for both teams.

If the D has one fast guy go at the QB it is over.

ive seen them try to rush the qb. qb is usually about 10 or more yards from the center. all he has to do is dump it off to his rb and the rb can make plays.

i think we are the only team established that basically 100% of the time runs a no-huddle spread (empty backfield, we still have guards) offense. not sure you can "wing it" without a lot of practice, but i am happy to try and help

If you think about it, any team that uses their linemen as pass catchers are running a form of the spread. I know that we run it with linemen that are athletic enough to spread out as TE/WR. I do have to say that you have to have the right people to run the spread in its best form. On top of that you have to have receivers that know how to find holes in zones and be able to make space in man coverage. The key to any spread is the quarterback. He has to be able to make fast decisions and break down defenses with in a 3 to 4 second read. I have to say that if you think rushing one “fast rusher” is going to shut it down, I’ve got news for you. That fast rusher better be a hose too. If you come quick with no size… well, you’ll be watchn’ the bodies hit the floor. Now if you are able to run the spread out of a no-huddle then you’ve got something. I have to say that takes a lot of practice and when run right it looks like controlled kaos.
To the scrubs. Good luck this weekend. Our defense is looking forward to the no-huddle the challenges that it presents us. Good luck once again and see you on the field.
