Get a rugby player to return kicks... they can pitch (more like an underhand spiral) on the run up to 30 yards. Until he left our team, we brought back 3-4 kicks per season. If returns are practiced like regular plays, they can work almost every time. There is a lot of space on the field in 8 v 8.

Kickoffs are sooooooooo underrated. The Raiders (Men In Tights) basically won a championship b/c their kicker ALWAYS kicked it to the goaline and they had the flag pulled by the 10. Conversely, teams should practice returns with pitches and laterals. Once one team has success doing it, everyone will.

Why do they make special plays? Is there any going around who might be interested in the fall comp?
What about punters?

Punters and placekickers, they probably have more of an impact than return men.
