Are there any lethal passers? We are trying to figure out our best base defense, and this league seems dominated by runners. Are there any QBs that can rip your heart out by air?

Well, the best teams recently have featured runners>throwers. Of the top four Spring teams, none of the qbs can kill you with their arm.
Last year Vaughn from Lazy was the exception.
The Sharks qb was an outstanding qb. He didnt have a gun necessarily, but had great timing and touch.
I dont know where Vaughn is, and I dont know much about the new teams (ie Outlaws), but of the older teams the Scrubs qb definitely has the best arm. However, his immobility can always been his weakness.

Outlaws if you`re looking at a traditional QB. He`s like Brady; never rattled, very accurate, and puts just enough on the ball to get it there.

Of the old school teams, definitely the Scrubs qb. He has a gun, but his touch on the deep ball is absurd.
Also, last year (year before?) My Plumber had a dude with an absolute rifle.
However, as far as teams that kill you with the pass only the old My Plumber and Sharks drove you nuts because they took a deep snap and got rid of the ball fast.
If you are asking about a base defense, most teams get away with soft zones because most teams dont feature strong arm qb`s...so thats what I would feature if I was starting from scratch.

Outlaws could have beat the Wolves last week. But they had at least 4 dropped passes that would have been sure touchdowns.
Outlaws QB ain`t pretty, but he`s damn accurate. If his boys could catch, he would be a beast!

Precision. NOVAS have been doing it for years. They`re not world-class athletes, but they wrote the book on playing smart, unified TEAM ball. They spot your weaknesses and exploit the hell out of them. That`s how they rack up so many points and allow so few

Yes, please shut the **** up. Individuals have mentioned teams Novas, My Plumber, Sharks and Outlaws (also the Dietz Nutz QB)who have made some noise in state and national tournaments. What the f8ck did Bad Boyz do with your top QB in the state tournament or national tournament? That`s what I thought.

Not discounting the bad boys QB, but the above post is correct:
in this league, a dominant qb should win almost single handedly...as long as 1-2 guys can catch. 8 on 8 is so spread out that if you are THAT good at running, throwing AND make good decisions, you should have a dominant team.
The NOVA`s qb doesnt have a great arm (if it is the same guy as last year), neither does the Rhinos or the Wolves...but they are all great qbs. What are we talking about anyways?

BadBoyz QB will put all you VA QB`s to shame. Ask the Rhinos about him, they played against him last season and lost. I`m pretty sure the same outcome will happen on sunday but more points will be scored. If the Rhinos are suppose to be the best team in the VA league then the playoffs should be a breeze. For the guys who are talking all that sh*t, what team do you play for so Badboyz will make sure that they run the score up on you a$$ if we happen to run in to you?

Back to the original question: there are 2-3 qbs with legit arms but none of them are on a dominant team. So, as such, create a defense based on what you will see most: running qb`s with marginal passing skills. IMHO, rush 3 with the ends out wide to contain and a soft zone that keeps the dbs eyes in the backfield. As you gain experience, you will be stunned how few teams feature a qb that can hurt these soft zones with their arm.
