I`ll take Irreverence over Crisaks

I don`t think Chuck can take Union though.

First off.. insightful analogy by hmmmm.. but even the WNBA gets more action than men`s tennis. Give me Bjorn Borg and his 3 different girlfriends in the stands anyday over Federer..errr rer. And I could give a $hit less about his serve. Ooooohhhh.. an Ace! How exciting! I`m glad I shelled out $60 for this ticket.

Back to the question at hand to the other peasant... C leaguers: this website and messageboard are here for you to learn. We can only supply the tools, but you have to use them. Now I`m no Professor Spelling, or Professor of any kind (except maybe the Professor of Picks), but as to your query, for the best C team to play an A team you need only to look at the Raw Dawgs this spring. If you`ve been paying attention, they have a losing streak this year second only to Howard K. Stern.

Yes, there are a few success stories.. but for the most part, a C team will take 1-2 yrs worth of lumps before being seriously competitive. Those 1 or 2 talented guys you have on your C team (great athletes I`m sure), but the A teams have 6 or 7 guys just like them. Not to mention, the majority have high school football experience, and a few with college, maybe even Div.I. While the A league may not look much different than C league on the sideline, what you don`t see is the physicality, the precision, the game management, and the experience that most teams have.

So calm down, get your feathers unruffled and enjoy your C league success while it lasts. Practice hard and come to A. I know the RawDawgs will be happy to see you!

p.s. right now early odds on that game would be RawDags -6 1/2 to whatever team you play for.

I agree

Very nice writeup, The open league has great players and good team chemistry but the O&Dline make up the difference. Open league teams with beast of a line have been successful. I`m not saying that the line is the only difference, The open league has some great athletes and chemistry and poise. But without your line you guys definitely would not be as strong.

How would USC do against the Texans?

A cool scenario would be a good c league team would go up against a good open team with a twist. They will swap linemans. Hows that for an exhibition game?

I really like the idea of having a Novice Division. That way all the new comers can get their feet wet and get a feel for the league.

What the Novice people need to understand is, it`s a whole new world when jumping into the Open Division.

Like ARG said...enjoy the C league while you can. You`ll see the talent, size and speed difference when you move up.

Past few teams that dominated the C division over the past few seasons:

Raw Dawgs - Fall 06 C champs, took them 5 games to score a TD.
Over Rated - Fall 06 C Champs, still winless
Diesel - Spring 06 C champs, went 0-6 last fall. Looks like they finally found a formula to compete with the big boys.
Pain - went 7-0 in sping 06, then were 1-6 last fall. Like Diesel they too found the formula to compete.

There you see it can take a while for a team to move up from C and make some noise. Stay humble guys. Even the Best C team can get waxed by the worst B team.

Then again...

The Coyotes hung tough starting out in the A league...of course, they were basically a bunch of guys who had already played together in High School.

I think teamwork and cohesiveness are more important that pure talent, assuming you have decent players (see some of yesterdays posts about the Sharks and My Plumber).
