MD?

Tom,

I`ve taken a poll from our team and it appears that the majority of them are not open to driving to and playing in Maryland. This is the case because of the fact the they all pitched in and paid a team fee to play regular season in FFX county. Post season is another story, but regular season. It will be unfair because most of the team will simply not show up.

Please keep this in mind.

Please, your poll does not speak for all VA teams. Just be man enough to state your team`s name and state that your team would not like to travel to MD. No one made you or your poll the liason for the VA teams!

For out of division week only 4 Virginia IFFL teams will travel to Maryland to play exhibition games. I asked for volunteers, but if we do not get any we`ll assign - teams that have had significant schedule adjustments made to accomodate them - to play there (That`s how you pay back the IFFL for hooking you up that one weekend where...)

The games will not count in division standings, nor will the out of division Virginia games.

For the postseason, Virginia teams will travel to Maryland to play first round games if their Maryland opponent has a higher seed. Second round games and the Final Four will be played in Virginia exclusively.

Finally, the field in Maryland is only a seven minute drive from Alexandria. We`re not talking The Eastern shore, somewhere north of Baltimore, or Cumberland. It may actually be closer for some Virginia teams than Reston/Herndon.

To the original poster:

Seriously!?! Tom, Rob, Shay et al... put on a league out of their volunteer efforts, just so you can say you play on a flag football team, then you complain b/c one of your games is in Maryland?

While I certainly appreciate the locality of our games, I don`t find it a stretch to travel the extra 20-30 minutes on a Sunday morning to play in a game with an opportunity to play against a team that may have a different style or level of play from what I see every Sunday.

Tom and Co.,
I appreciate where ever you can schedule a game for me to play, and thank you so much for doing so.
