Ok kids, we are down to eight. With the exception of the Lions and Playmakers, the first round went about as I saw it. Wilbon has been in my ear all week about his Scrubs pick over the Lions. To bad his pick to win it all (Playmakers) tightened up and lost as well!! Ok Tony, what do you see this weekend....
Scrubs vs Chickens
Don`t let the #9/#16 seeding fool you. This game is very evenly matched. The Scrubs QB came up huge when it counted against the Lions last week. His calm demeanor is a perfect match with the raw youth they have added. The Chickens were counted out by everyone, except themselves, and that all that matters. An early pick against the Playmakers last week sent a message that they were there to win. I think this one is going to be tight the whole way. It`s going to come down to a big play, witch the Chickens will make. Chickens 14-10
Larrys vs NOVAs
These two have been here before. Larrys dominated the upstart Banditos last week from the start, and showed they can still get it done. They have a strong rush that is going to present some problems for the NOVAs. The NOVAs are the model for consistency, looking to advance to the semis for the 6th straight year. They are always sharp come playoff time and hold a decisive 4-1 record over Larrys. Look for the NOVAs to set the tone early with a few big plays on offense. Larrys will put up a fight, but in the end, the NOVAs big game experience will be too much to overcome. NOVAs 21-14
Mac Daddies vs Rhinos
This one is a rematch of the infamous Bark Bowl Brawl. The Mac Daddies have been consistent all year, something that has eluded them in the past. They seem to do just enough to win and always bring that physical style of play. The Rhinos kept form last week by looking dominating at times, but very beatable at others. The D seems to carry them, but their new QB has added a threat on O with his scrambling ability. Look for the Daddies to bring that physical play early and end the Rhinos dreams of a repeat. Mac Daddies 17-10
Lazy Sundae vs Vegas Nights
This one appears to be the most exciting game on the board. Lazy has dominated all year, and although they are vulnerable in the secondary, that offence is tough to slow down. The Nights are the surprise team of the season. This former bunch of Mudcats has gotten hot at the right time of year. They play solid D and have a few tricks in the bag on offense. Look for this one to be a see saw battle the whole way. The team with the ball last is going to be the one left standing. In the end that will be Lazy 21-14.
Memo to Riles – Give Shaq MORE touches!!!! As always, if your going to be out on your bike tonight, do wear white.
