Not that it matters much because its C league but It effects A and B too... Two teams in C league had tainted rosters and should of had to forfited the playoffs... Overrated and Demons, The league should def. be more strict on rosters if they plan on keeping people around. Adding players to the team in the playoffs gives everyone a disadvantage that has been playing the right way the whole season. Instead of bringing guys to try out and get them on the final roster before week 3, some teams have the advantage of adding and seeing players all the way up to the last game or week 8. So what if I`m *****ing but everyone who plays fair and follows the rules will side with what im saying becuase I`m right. Maybe next year if nothings done there shouldn`t be rosters... what do you guys think?

If I have John Doe on my roster before the rosters lock, and he doesn`t show up until the playoffs then that is perfectly legal and it happens all the time. Stop whining, stop worrying about other teams and improve your team.

First off alot of teams rosters were not tainted. You can get everyone there from the roster to come to every game. **** OverRated had there roster locked in week 3 !!
Why dont you be more specific on who on overrate that wasnt on our roster! So shut up about the roster. If you think we added players for a damn playoff game then you are wrong because everyone been playing together since week 3 and we only added 1 player that didnt play week 3 and played week 4 5 6 7 8!!! You can always challenge a roster before you play if you think some one is cheating. You had the right to ask and you didn`t so now live with the fact that OverRated Won the division and championship. Also Overrated will probably move up to open next year so maybe you will get a better shot next year in C league.

It would seem "illogical" that Overrated would jeapordize their Championship opportunity by getting some late season ringers... particularly after dominating in the regular season with what I assume would be their legal roster.
However, for that same reason, if there is any shred of truth to this accusation, then you should be ashamed Overrated.
But being a vet of all dvisions in this league, its a generally accepted phenomenon that player attendance seems to swell the deeper a team advances in the win total. I don`t think that there is any late-season roster manipulation, but rather a huge legal roster submitted at the beginning of the season when the coach knows full well that are some "potential ringers" on there that likely won`t make every game. Some coaches may enjoy this safety cushion for the playoffs, while others argue that it`s difficult to field 8 players every week.
I think the only way the league can curtail this is to have a maximum # of players on the roster. This would probably eliminate the playoff surprise appearance to some degree. Although, this may already exist.. commissioners??

I have to agree.I think it is a loophole that teams can put anybody on the roster at the beginning of the season. No one checks to see if they actually play during the season and then they show up at playoffs.I have seen the NVFFA combat this problem by checking rosters at each game and in adult softball - you have to at least play in half the games to be eligible for the playoffs. This eliminates the "RINGER" laoding at playoff time and the faces you see at playoff time are the same you see during the season.

I have seen teams show up during the season with 9 0r 10 guys , but when I saw them during the playoffs- they had 18-20 guys. The guys were on the roster at the beginning of the season, but you did not see them until playoff time. This is legal , but it looks bad. It will always happen unless an eligibility rule is put inot play.Meaning - you have to play at least 4 games with a team before you are eligible to play with them in the playoffs.basically - If your team does its own thing and does not worry about other teams-it will always work out in the end.

This topic came up at the coaches` meeting at the beginning of the season and we voted against "required games". If their roster is legal, who are you to tell another team who to play? What`s the difference between a guy who shows up and doesn`t play a down vs. a guy who doesn`t show up till playoffs time.

Yes, teams are allowed to carry up to 22 players and those players are not required to participate in the regular season to play in the postseason.
Those players cannot also be rostered on another team in the league, which despite what`s been said here was not an issue this past Sunday.
We`re not going to change our roster policy which is that the oppossing coach can challenge one player at the field before, during or after the game; however, one coach made a suggestion to us that we`ll take under serious consideration because it will work towards alleviating suspicion. His suggestion is that coaches should be able to view their opponents roster prior to a game.
We may allow some form of access to roster names and #s, but only a week prior to the game, and for that opponent only. This is not a league policy change so it won`t require a vote next summer.
We`ll talk about it in the off season.

Thanks for the clarification. I really didn`t think there was any illegal roster moves.. but I`d like to offer that 22 may be a bit high for the roster max. I think that leads to this misperception of illegal rosters... b/c frankly you could easily have 4-5 legal players show up for the playoffs when they never played a game.
I`m not a coach, so I don`t know the pros and cons to the 22 number or the logic behind it. I`m just a player voicing his thoughts on a rule. I would think a lower number (like 16, maybe?) would prevent the "ringer" question, as well as maybe increase the number of teams in the IFFL.. that`s a good thing, right.
Do disrespect intended. I appreciate all the work you commissioners do. As always, thanks.

I think 22 is what they have at state and/or national tourneys. We try and match the state and national rules as much as possible to facilitate the transitions for the teams in our league.

You want my oppinion??? Get your facts straight before you post trash! Do you know for a fact that Demons and Overrated had tainted rosters? Yeah, just what I thought, you don`t! So the way I look at it is, you obviously have a problem with a team or teams that are better than yours, and in the "C" league, don`t tell me.....your team did not make the playoffs? Better luck next year, you just might want to look over the free agent list! Your buddy, DONKEY
