Rosters need to be finalized prior to 8:00 AM this Sunday. After 8:00 AM Sunday you will not be allowed to add to your roster. Access and make additions and modifications your roster through the coach access link.

Why is this important? Last Fall two teams were assessed forfeit losses after winning their games when a complaint was filed with the league regarding using unrostered players. If an oppossing team files a roster protest we WILL check your roster. If the player questioned is not on your roster we will change the outcome of your game to a forfeit loss - even if its a playoff game.

What is a roster protest? An oppossing team can challenge ONE player on your team (not the whole team) once rosters are locked. Before rosters are locked, players can switch teams - but cannot play on two different teams the same week.

What if an oppossing team files a roster protest but you have no one rostered? Then every player on your team is ineligible - game is a forfeit loss.

What if a player is rostered on two teams? It is the players responsibility to get himself off of one roster an onto another. If a player is found to be playing on two teams (even on one Novice team and one Open team) the most recent game he played is a forfeit loss. As a coach you need to make sure your players are not freelancing elsewhere.

I just want to add something else to this. The most common situations where we get a roster protest, are when:

1) A team loses and either the coach or a player recognizes a player on the other team as having played with another squad previously in the same season.

2) A team loses to a team they have played already or have seen play a lot, and they face a player who they have never seen playing with that team before.

3) A player from another team (not one of the two teams playing) mentions to the coach or a player on the losing team that "so and so" is a ringer - I would protest if I were you.

A majority of the roster protests we get result in no action, because the players questioned are in fact rostered. The bottom line is make sure everyone who takes the field is rostered.
