     Katrina Aid Suggestions

Football players 12:09 PM

With all of the energy generated on this message board, how about we do something worthwhile.I suggest we try to have a tournament or set up a fund for our brothers and sisters who were victims to Katrina. We sit here and dog each other, but we should direct those efforts toward a goal.Maybe get some help from the Commish Trio ?

Since we are all superstars, why don;t we donate for every flag pull or catch or touchdown to a common cause. Sugestions ????????

I will chip in $5 for every touchdown we score this season. And PLEASE , no smart-ass comments. This is going for a good cause, so let`s have some class and come together as a football community.

I think if we can get $ together for the humane society there is no reason people wouldn`t donate to this cause.

How about an all-star game? IFFL v.FFX, we can charge a cover of $3 or something like that and donate all the money to hurricane relief. Plus it would be fun.

People still need help and if you don`t agree , then we all would prefer that you keep it to yourself and don`t take up space on this board.I created this to help people and if you don`t want to then fine , but please take your opinions/comments somewhere else.

You are wasting my time.Take your statistics and your petty attitude and leave this site. There are a lot of good people and CHILDREN who need help.Don`t worry - nobody is going to ask for your help,so take your selfish ,bullsh*t attitude and do us all a favor- LEAVE.

You are really ignorant and every time you open your mouth - you prove it.If you actually stand by your facts, state who you are and what team you play for ? I am pretty sure they wouldn`t approve of your comments.

Bottom line is , we are all children of God and we are here to help one another in this life regardles of age, race, color, creed, religious beliefs or finacial position. It is our choice to help or not to help . What if something happens to you and you need help ? I don`t think you`d apreciate it if everyone took your attitude and said let him sink. You are a lost soul.Good luck in life .
Oh yeah I am Outcast #24 and My name is Ron or TIC and I say what I beleive and I beleive what I say.Take care.

Perfectly said Tic!! I played for the blazers in Spring `05 and we are not fielding in the fall. However, I did talk it over with my coach and we would be interested in a fundraiser game or games if this all comes together. I am more than willing to help if anyone needs it. Please just let me know. Like I said, my name is Josh, Blazer#00, jersey name (Top Dawg). Any Questions...

toff. i agree with you. but i say have two teams from ffx.. and two from iffl since there are alot in both leagues or maybe even more.. then people could donate canned goods or get charged a fee to watch.. tds, field goals, sacks, ints.. anything really.. can be turned into money donated to the relief.. not sure if we have enough time to organize it.. but if not.. how bout we try and have one at the end of the season..

How about we have a Turkey Bowl Tourney during Thanksgiving weekend. They will be in recovery for a long time , so I don`t think we have to get them the money right at this moment.Anything at anytime would be a great help.

Let me see what we can do to make this happen.

As for the callous post(s), I like to think of these messageboards as a league community. Personally, I strongly disagree with the sentiment of those posts, but I will not censor something unless it is blatently racist, advocates criminal behavior, or is someone impersonating another player or team with the intent to damage the reputation of that team. Its a fine line, but it is a line. Usually the community does a better service addressing these posts with replies than I would do by deleting or censoring the posts.

1) That jackass has no compassion for human life and if he had the onions to state who he was we could all show our compassion for the gutter slut. It`s not about the area, it`s the people who need our help. So screw you, the horse you rode in on, and the rock from which you both crawled!

2) I can dig the Turkey Bowl idea. How about for starters we just bring canned goods or whatever we can to the games and donate until we find other ways to contribute?

Thanks SEF.It `s a good feeling when we can come together as a football family for a good cause.I like the turkey bowl and if we can`t get complete teams to participate, then we just play pick up all day and bring whatever to help.By the way I will be coming after you soon enuf !!!!! LOL Thanks again,

Why don`t you stand by what you are saying and stop hiding on this message board.State your name and your team .

edit post delete post

udddawg 217:20 PM

what government mistake are you refering to exactly? last time I checked the government doesn`t schedule hurricanes
seeing that you are so concerned with taxes and consider all of new orleans to be poor criminals, I`ll assume that you are some high brow NOVA shmuck that has been spoon fed his whole life
when the terrorists decide to rear their heads again and hit DC we`ll see how much crying for help you do, hopefully you`ll be in DC when it happens

as far as growing up and being compared to a looter, you`ve got my name team and number, I`m man enough to leave a face with my opinion, where does that leave you?

Hey man, keep your cool.Don`t lower yourself to his level. You`ve got support from your fellow football family. This jerk is a coward and his stupidity is unreal. If he has the balls to give his name then so be it , but he will have his day regardless if he fesses up here.Let`s concentrate on what we can do for these people and let this jerk keep proving his ignorance.

Russ, I understand your frustration. I don`t like cowards either but they are out here. Tom, Rob, and Shay, whats with getting a Thanksgiving Bowl for the donations? Teams pay same as they would for the BB but would be donated to a good cause? Hell, people could bring their kids with water, lemon aid, or baked goods stands while the tournament is going on. You know the people would buy them for a good cause like this. Every little thing we can do for them will be appreciated. They are American families that needs Americans to help!! We have a way to help and feel that we should jump on the opportunity! I am more than willing to help in any way I can. Please feel free to call on me, I will give my personal contact info to who ever is interested in my help. GSS Blazer# 00 (Top Dawg) ~Josh

p.s. see you all on the field hopefully for a Thanks Giving Bowl but definitely for the Spring `06!!

Why did this thread go dead? I have a lot of respect for this one and thought it was a great idea. What happened men?

edit post delete post

t 56 Sam3:05 PM

Tom, Rob, and Shay. I am sure we can put together something. I will talk it over with Leroy and the rest of the team, but I am pretty sure that we would like to participate in a Turkey Bowl. As long as we continue to respond to that person, he will feel encouraged to continue. We all play the game because we love it. Thanks for continuing to provide us an opportunity to play the game. There are a few Frat Members that play in the league and belong to grad chapters, they may have additional ideas to raise some proceeds for the victims of the disaster. If there is anything you need assistance with, please let me know.

Sorry for the absence.I hope Russ from Muddawgs and his family are doing well.It was a pleasure to meet you and I hope this thread will generate some help for those in need.I wanted to start something as a football community to show that we can do something also.Let`s not allow this thread to drop.
