Man I was watching this game, and I dont how the Novas are undeafted. The Little Daddies should have beat them. The Little Daddies were the first to score on them all year and there not that good. The Novas are lucky to come away with a win. The daddies QB went down in the first half. The Novas couldnt even score from the 10 yard line in the first half. But than again they are the NOVAS and get alot of calls from the REFS, there was no doubt about that one. Just my two cents.

There are 4 legit teams, and then everyone else. Feel free to prove me wrong...on the field! I havent seen the MacDaddies recently, but unless they have lost a lot of players they are not the kind of team anyone can take lightly and people should not be surprised by a near-upset.

Sometimes the score board does not tell the whole story. The Novas know who won that game.

I have to disagree. I play on a pretty good, but not great team. I cannot tell you how many times we walked away saying "we shoulda won". But thats the difference: somehow the top teams just win, and that is the ONLY story that matters. Moreover, like I said, its not like the MacDaddies dont have some history too/they are a capable team.

For those newer teams, there are the top 4 but there arent any killer teams right now. When the Sharks were rolling, they were brutal offensively. My Plumber was a beast as well several years back. I am not sure any of the top 4 are of their caliber.

Then again, its just flag ; ))

I also saw that game and the following game of which I took part. Let`s get something straight...

1. MacDaddies are a solid team with a pretty good group of athletes. They lost their QB early due to a knee injury (hope he`s alright) but their back-up is the one who threw the TD pass.
2. I think the Novas played with 10 guys and half of them were guys I usually see playing other positions. They had their bald linebacker playing QB and the tall guy that usually plays center was playing safety
3. The monster wind made both teams look ugly and during the day was a big factor in our game too
4. While I agree that there is a perception that all the top teams "get the calls" from the refs, there were no questionable calls in that game that I saw, so I don`t know why you even brought that up.

5. Bottom line...the Novas haven`t lost since the title game last Spring to Lazy. Until they lose, COULDA/WOULDA/SHOULDA only pertains to the bottom dwellers knocking off each other.

.02 Cents, you`re way too big on history. While the Top 3 (I`m reserving my opinion on these out of nowhere Wolves) may or may not contend with the Sharks and Plumbers of years past, how can you say they are not brutal? Those top teams have some serious point differentials that rebutt your opinion. Finally, all the Top 3 can do is play the games they`re scheduled to play. There`s no point in talking about how they compare with the Sharks n Plumbs unless I can handicap them.

My only point was just because a game is close doesnt mean that a top team is a "fraud", only that there is a lot more parity than in years past. I still feel there are the top 4 then everyone else.

Reality Checks post, if accurate, explains a lot. There are very few (almost none) teams that can loose key players, esp. qb, and still compete at the same level...so when you look at all of these scores you never know the reality of the game. Spring is especially bad for most teams as far as getting people out to play.

to keep it even, Novas has been playing with the bald qb most if not this whole season, the bald guy as you call him usually plays center and coming from his mouth prefers not to play qb anymore. In reality this guy is a great qb which I believe was his starting position in college. He by no means is a backup, he`s there front runner but chooses not to play if there is someone else to fill in the spot.

I heard that the Novas play with a lighter squad in the Spring...The Fall is wear they run with a full squad...So, they may not have their regular talant full-time in the Spring.

To observer, I respect your opinion, but it`s ludicrous to think that the Novas aren`t one of the elite if not the best team in the league based off of one game. It`s crazy to think that each team is going to be in sync and on all cylinders in each every game. There will be some games where teams are just off that day but in the end the better teams will find a way win.

By the way, if you look up the MacDaddies history, they are more than a capable team. They have had some pretty damn good seasons...no surprise they gave the NOVA`s a run.

You`re right about the Nova`s bald linebacker playing QB although I don`t believe he QB`ed in college. However he did play the position for years in this league as one of the elite QBs. He may not have the classic QB form or the strongest arm in the league, but the man is a football player who plays with a passion and makes great decisions. He`s also a great sportsman and a class act. The one thing I will say, is that if the Novas regular QB was there that would have given them one more skill position player that they seemed to be lacking this weekend. Not saying it would have made a difference in the score (in fact MacDaddies have always played good D against their regular QB), but it may have.

That dude (the center) makes some BIG plays for those guys. He cant weight more than a 190 soaking wet, but holds up well. Good player.

The Novas only have two centers and neither are bald, at least I`m not bald yet. I`m the 6`7" tall guy and I play center most of the time. The other center is Bob, he`s the short gray haired guy who is tough as nails. Although during the spring I`ve moved around where needed since we`ve played short handed (center/guard/D-line/safety). The bald guy you guys are refering to is Mac. He is probably the best all-around player on the team. He plays QB when John isn`t there, but mainly plays LB and some WR.

JC says he`s the best center/d-line/safety/wr/qb/lb on the team.

The last time we played you guys our plan was to bull rush him with guys twice his size. We didnt record one sack.

All in all, last weeks game was terrible for us and yes we were short. Mac Daddies played a hell of a game and it went to the end with a win for us based on very small opportunities. I feel there are several great teams in this league...it`s hard to say who`s the better team in Flag Football, I mean one season we`re great the next we`re struggling. Let`s just ride out the season and see who takes it home for this 2007 Spring League and see each other again in the Fall with full teams ready for action. Either or, this league carries some of the best players i`ve seen hands down...All of you are ballers in your own rite to me...

Just trying to lull them to sleep before we put in effect EVIL PLAN Z and world domination will soon be ours BWAH AH AH. Lets see, time to move on to how great the Rhino`s look in spandex ; ))
