     out of county fees

Tom - IFFL08:57 AM

We`ve sent out emailers (where applicable) this morning billing for non-Fairfax County residents rostered.

As we pay this in advance based on final rosters, please make sure you attend to this.

Thank You,

Tom

Are these fees for all non-county or just out of state! Because you have alot of teams that are non-fairfax county, like loudoun and prince william counties! And what happens if you don`t pay by 11:59pm on friday, and what about the maryland teams coming down to va to play, why aren`t they getting charged as well? Because this message isn`t on their web site!!Come on now, whats really going on?This is the first time this ever came up.

Fee is for out of County players on your team roster for teams based in Fairfax County.

And what happens if you don`t pay by 11:59pm on friday

If you need extra time to pay, let us know in advance.

IX.Fees

......3. A non-resident fee established by the Board of Supervisors, or in-kind reciprocal use of facilities, will be charged for all adult and youth players, persport, per season, per team.

"reciprocal use" being the operative phrase here.

Did you read the whole information page when you registered?

Out of County fees have been assessed as long as we`ve been running this league (1994). This is a County policy, and every league or organization which uses Fairfax County facilities must comply.

Field Use09:13 AM

If the fee is for field use, why aren`t the MD teams getting charged the fee for games they play in VA? I realize it`s only up to 1 RS game plus playoffs, but they`re technically using the field.

Also, how do you define "based in Fairfax County"? Does that mean the league that the team plays in? If so, you mean "team roster for teams IN LEAGUES based in Fairfax County". Which brings us back to why the MD teams are in a VA league playoff.

Sure, it sounds like a great idea to promote the game in MD, but your doing this at the expense of the VA teams, and in case you don`t read your own message board, the VA guys don`t like it. Now, we`re essentially paying for MD teams to come over here to play games on County fields.

Another question...if a team plays its games at Hook Road, managed by the Reston Association I believe, why do we have to pay a fee that is designated for Fairfax County managed fields?

"or in-kind reciprocal use of facilities".

Because our organization (IFFL) also pays for and uses Prince Georges County facilities, and because PG County does not subject Fairfax-based IFFL teams to residency fees to use its facilities, Fairfax will not charge PG County-based IFFL teams to use its facilities.

Also, how do you define "based in Fairfax County"?

Where your team plays most of its games.

Which brings us back to why the MD teams are in a VA league playoff.

Because the Spring league (just like last year) integrates VA and MD for the playoffs.

I`ve received exactly one email and/or phone call complaining about it, and we don`t run the league based on anonymous posts or skewed polls. How exactly are VA teams paying for MD to come and play? You would still pay non-county resident fees for your team whether the MD teams played games in VA or not. (As explained above) VA teams do not have to pay fees to PG County to play games there.

if a team plays its games at Hook Road, managed by the Reston Association I believe, why do we have to pay a fee that is designated for Fairfax County managed fields?

We do not pay a fee to Fairfax County for Hook Road teams, we pay a fee to the Reston Association, and its $27.50 per non-resident player (not $20.00). The league subsidizes the extra $7.50 per player so that teams who play at Hook do not have to pay more.
