     Championship games 6/17

Tom - IFFL08:55 AM

Congratulations to our 2007 A, B and C Champs: Wolves, Vegas Nights, and Irreverence.

The A Championship game was seriously one of the best flag football games I have ever watched, with incredible plays from both teams on both sides of the ball.

Along with the players and their families, there were a few Hook Road neighborhood residents who brought out lawn chairs and watched the game from the baseball diamond. They couldn`t stop talking about the game, and one man even half-joked that it was the best Fathers` Day treat he`s had in years.

The Bad Boyz took a 20-14 lead with 1:30 left in the game. The Wolves drove down to the 20, and with 10 seconds left on the clock, scored with one of a dozen circus catches for the day.

The C Championship started as a defensive effort, 0-0 for most of the game, but also came down to the wire as both teams scored late to send the game into overtime.

The A semifinals were equally competitive, with both games undecided until later in the second half.

Rob was out at Braddock for the B final four so maybe he`ll chip in with his take on those games.

I have a lot of photos to post to the league album from Hook Road, and Rob took quite a few over at Braddock which I will also post.

question11:03 AM

bring your own photographer

To Question12:07 PM

You are in the C League. Move up or shut up.

Tom - IFFL12:39 PM

I am adding photos as I can (I AM AT WORK) in the order the galleries are posted. I just posted B, but I have to leave for a meeting so I am not sure when I`ll get the C photos sized, cropped, and loaded.

Tom:

Combining the leagues turned out to be one the best ideas for the season. You should do it more for the Fall, maybe an 8-game season with 4 of them being interleague (MD v. VA) games.

What are you thoughts for something like this?

VA4:03 PM

As long as the games are in Virginia, sounds good. Weeknight games in Maryland do not sound fun. (And NO not because of the area, because of the damn commute.)

A True Observer4:41 PM

VA:

The Maryland teams play on Sundays. I am talking about Sunday morning games. I wasn`t referring to weeknight games. I am not familiar with those games. I think it should be an even split. If Tom goes with four interleague games, then two per state.

Just a suggestion...

SEMI pics....5:54 PM

Tom, are you going to put up the Semi round game pics?
