We`re capping both Open divisions at 9 teams. There are 2 slots remaining in the Fairfax Division, 4 in Reston. I`m expecting 2 more for the Reston division, and 1 for Fairfax. There could be teams I am not expecting to register that do - including a few C move-ups from Spring and last Fall if those teams register.

Once Open hits 18 teams that`s it - Open is closed.

Novice has 4 teams, I am expecting at least 2 more to register by Thursday. Depending on the number of Novice teams, Novice games will either be at Pop Tree or Baron Cameron#1 (or both).

I will send out an email tomorrow to coaches to gauge availability to start the season on 8/26 as planned or to postpone the whole schedule to 9/9. If enough coaches cannot field a team on 8/26 we`ll delay the league start until Sep 9th. If its - say 5 or 6 teams only, then we`ll start on 8/26 and those teams off on 8/26 will play an additional double header down the road.

If so, we`re going to try to run a Labor Day weekend 8-team tournament for teams who are in town and want to participate.

I might add to the above that this tournament (if we run it) will only be open to IFFL Fall league teams (VA and MD).

Novice division is now closed at 8 teams, Open division at Pop Tree is closed at 8, one more Open slot at Hook Road division to fill and registration closes.

Have you figured out whether or not you`re going to do any "interleague" games, i.e. MD v. VA during the season? If so, will they count?

Although there are 6-7 MD teams this season, I believe two games against VA teams would be helpful in keeping the two states close, and the teams can meet each other during the season, rather than JUST in tournments.

Any word on when Week 1 schedules will be posted? Are we still starting on 9/9?
