the Wolfpack/Franchise game? |

| Re: Hook | 12:01 PM |
Wolfpack |
|
| ..... | 12:36 PM |
12-7 |
|
| Pain | 2:26 PM |
lost to Collision?? Say it isn`t so!! Pain what the hell happend? You are better than that for s4its sake! |
|
| Collision | 2:55 PM |
Seems like central can`t sleep on them. Can someone recap the collision and wolfpack game? |
|
| both | 4:16 PM |
games had lots of dropped passes and sloppy play which was a direct result of the rain/mud...
WP got out to a 12-0 lead and held on for the victory
Collision made a big play and Pain didn`t. 6-0 |
|
| Both games | 8:39 PM |
were terrible, no reason a game should have been played on the Hook Rd field today. There couldn`t have been more than 20 completed passes between the 4 teams that played in the morning. Collision didn`t make it past midfield in the 2h and Pain must have dropped at least 10 passes. Franchise and Wolfpack were slipping all over the field, missing flags etc. |
|
| yea... | 8:45 PM |
its too dangerous to play i the rain. Shut the hell up and play FOOTBALL! |
|
| I agree | 9:39 PM |
I think its only fair to re-play the games since the weather made an unfair obsticle for better organized teams. since not all the good teams had to play in the rain then its not fair so I say replay! |
|
| Replay? | 9:46 PM |
You can`t be serious? So then if the outcomes changed in the replay would you complain about the sun being too bright and have them play again? |
|
| um | 9:56 PM |
Do you really think he was serious? |
|
| Who knows | 9:58 PM |
The jokers on this site are all over the place. |
|
| Cry Baby | 10:08 PM |
If you did not play you Betch and when you play you Betch. You must be a Betch |
|
| Do Over | 10:19 PM |
Since we are talking about replays/do overs, I would like to replay last week. The reason I am giving is I had a few beers and was not my usual game ready. Thanks in advance and when will my game be replayed? |
|
| re: both games | 11:34 PM |
LOL its football and you play rain or shine! and the bad weather was an obstacle for all the teams...so you either played on one the losing teams and you`re just salty that you lost... |
|
| To all | 11:39 PM |
the tough guys who say play football rain or shine can you tell us why the Rhinos did not play WolfPack, why The Truth did not play Mutiny, why Nighthawks did not play Gold Rush? |
|
| re: To all | 00:07 AM |
Because the amount of rain exceeded the allowable threshold for fairfax county! |
|
| That | 07:35 AM |
is not true, the Refs at Hook Road allowed the teams to make the decision whether they wanted to play, not Fairfax County. Also, the amount of rain was pretty constant from about 9am on. However, you still did not answer the question I posed to the football tough guys who called out the players who said Hook Road should have been closed and the response by those football ball tough guys was "Shut the hell up and play FOOTBALL!" or "LOL its football and you play rain or shine". So try again with a better answer. |
|
| actually | 07:51 AM |
pretty sure the refs called off the games after the Pain v Collision game and it was based on the field starting to get torn up...not because a team didn`t want to play. Everyone who played had to deal with the rain. At least at hook, both the Rhinos and WP were at the fields and ready to play before their game was canceled. |
|
| 07:55 AM |
the Refs at Hook Road allowed the teams to make the decision whether they wanted to play
Actually, that`s not true. The only consideration was the middle of the field where the grass was starting to get chewed up after the second game. I was out at Hook (and BC briefly) yesterday and was carefully watching the field conditions. After the first game the middle of the field was okay. The continued rain started to puddle a little, and the grass was not longer staying in place - so the officials and I collectively decided to cancel the remaining games to prevent field damage.
All fields were open yesterday morning when status was updated at 7:05 AM. There was to be a re-evaluation at 11:00, and of course all fields were then closed, but we had cancelled games without having to wait for that second decision due to deteriorating field conditions.
Fields were okay at 8:00. At BC#1 and Herndon officials determined field conditions (from the continued rain) would be conducive to field damage beyond the first game.
Hook Rd is a sturdier field which drains much better, so we progressed further in the morning there.

| Where are | 08:24 AM |
the two idiots who were quoted, "Shut the hell up and play FOOTBALL!" or "LOL its football and you play rain or shine". I wanna read how they dance around their idiotic post! Don`t let us down, we all wanna laugh some more at YOU! |
|
| FAIL | 09:39 AM |
No one is looking for you to allow teams to replay games or not count the results, Tom, but admit that you made a mistake even allowing the games to go on. It was a bad decision.
To the idiots who say "it`s football, you play rain or shine!" you obviously have not been in this league very long. There was a time when games would get cancelled if rain was even in the forecast, and that`s because the fields are not well maintained by the county and a bunch of 200 lb dummies stomping around on them when wet for a few hours completely destroys them. Hook is DONE for the rest of the year, it`s going to be a bumpy dustpile from here on out and is going to suck to play on, no matter what you tough guys who "play no matter what!" say. |
|
| OMG | 09:46 AM |
What a tool! |
|
| ... | 09:46 AM |
Tom just can`t win can he...some ppl are never happy |
|
| 09:51 AM |
Tom, but admit that you made a mistake even allowing the games to go on. It was a bad decision.
I will have to disagree.
At 8:00 AM the fields were in satisfactory condition. At 9:10 some of them were not, and at 10:00 Hook Rd was not.
We do not cancel games based on what the weather "might" do (chance of rain was 15% at 7:00 going up to 50% by 9:00 and staying there until 2:00 when it when up to 70%).
The County usually makes the decision for us if its even close. People came out to the fields at 7:00 and checked them, and said they are "open".
It is possible there could have been no rain yesterday morning, or that the rain could have stopped. Yes, I have been around a long time - we`ve had to make calls like this before and we always would rather err to the side of playing than canceling. |
|
| Crying | 09:51 AM |
It`s obvious that you play for Pain. Would you like some cheese to go with your wine? You lost, your game is not going to be replayed. Take a loss like a man. If the games weren`t played individuals would have complained that we could have played. It happens all the time. If games are canceled, people complain that we should have played. And when games are played, the losing team (i.e. PAIN) always comes on here saying that the games should not have been played. My suggestion go play in the indoor leagu so that you don`t have to deal with the weather elements. That way you can be nice and cozy while you play flag football. |
|
| cry babies | 09:59 AM |
You complain when we don`t play in the rain and you complain when we do play in the rain. You complain because the refs don`t make calls and you complain when they make too many calls. Tom is doing what he can with the resources he has. He is NOT your babysitter. We played in the rain yesterday and lost , but it was a blast and the two teams had fun and the refs at let us play.We play States in any weather , so why should this be any different? |

Whoever is complaining about playing in the rain, the Rhinos would have gladly taken your place. I`ve never seen so many grown a*z men excited about playing in the rain on our sideline. You would have thought it was recess time the way we were all giddy about having a chance to play in the rain. Our game was postponed as we were about to take the field. We were upset that our normal game time of 8am was changed to 10:20. |

yeah cry babies, the football is for men not cheerleaders so sorry if your skirt got a lil wet, and maybe u need to take showers instead of hand baths, or even better maybe u should have talked to your teammates before the loss, and say hey I don`t think we should play in the rain cuz i`m gonna cry to tom and everybody is gonna go on me really hard lol, this is funny crying about rain, everybody say (THEIRS NO CRYING IN THE RAIN)....
singing duh duh duh duh.... flag fan radio..... |

| Played | 10:54 AM |
in the rain and didn`t have any problems, come to think of it both teams had a blast. Always one that gets on here and complains about games being postponed due to the weather, wah wah why couldn`t we play wah wah, then there is one that complains wah wah can we have a do over cause the rain made us lose, wah wah, maybe its because you sucked that you didn`t win. Shut up and go play for another league cry baby. Do over, wth, lmao. |
|
| um | 11:19 AM |
{x} Chances are it`s Dre complaining like a school girl. |
|
| Last | 11:23 AM |
I checked it was raining on both sides of the ball. There is no advantage given to any team. You argue that less organized teams had an advantage but they were now disorganized and wet. Organization and play calling should be even more of an advantage in bad conditions. I`m from Seattle so I`m gonna go ahead and need a redo of every game not played in the rain. Thanks Tom... |

it was fun playing flag football in the rain yesterday. |
|

you had me all the way until your wrote "your team became upset by not playing at 8am". You need to go back and edit that last sentence out and I will be yours forever, Locs and all. |
|
| excuses | 2:29 PM |
Looks like Lazy and the Wolves weren`t too bothered by the weather. Stop making excuses. The only thing the rain does is slow down a speed team a little but the O still has the advantage because they know the plays and routes and the d has to react. Come to play rain or shine. At states one year we played on a sheet of ice at Dorney and nobody said a word. Nationals was played in a snow storm a few years back. Shut up and play dawgs! |
|
| Do over | 3:30 PM |
Who on this thread is calling for a do over other than the sarcastic guy at the top of the thread? |

| Replaying games | 3:38 PM |

If a member of team Pain responded with a replay, then in response to him would be... Pain would have more of an advantage due to weather than collision would.
1) Pain had a running qb, Collision did not 2) Pain been in the iffl league for 14+ organized iffl/flag football events/seasons, and you are telling me collision with only 3 of those had an advantage somehow? 3) I am sorry, last time I understood, football is about adaptation, your team with a shelf full of experience would, and should have done its job in the rain, but failed. 3) Man up with your lost. Period. |
|
| It is true | 10:59 PM |
that the Refs at Hook Road allowed the teams to make the decision whether they wanted to play. The refs asked us if we wanted to play or have our game cancelled. We, as well as the other team, said FUK NO, we wanna play. You may wanna ask the refs to get a consistant story.

Willie Collision coach | |

I really doubt anyone from Pain is complaining about the rain. The conditions were nasty and took both of our teams out of our normal game plans but I`m pretty sure we all wanted to play. It was a fun game that could have gone either way and we have a lot of respect for them.
Also, to the above post, the refs also asked us if we wanted to play but the implication was we would have to forfeit if we didn`t. They were joking. |
|
| I too | 07:32 AM |
believe Pain is not complaining, they don`t complain about anything. They are some bad mutha f`ers. However, I do believe it is someone on The Truth Squad. They complain about everything, ask anyone who has played them and ask the refs who have officiated their games. |
|
| haha | 07:50 AM |
That`s the truth. |
|
| dre | 11:06 AM |
i guarantee it wasnt anybody from our team complaining. they made plays and we didnt plain and simple. it was a good fun game. |
